its not about hours of gameplay.
you could spend 5000 hours running patrols and unless you pull one from a legendary heavy engram, you aint never gonna see it.
run atheon 6 times per week. normal and hard.
run crota 6 times per week. normal and hard.
run the vog exotic chest 3 times per week.
run deathsinger 3 times per week.
run the nightfall 3 times per week.
and i guarantee you will have it LONG before anyone else who doesn't do all of that. on average.
that's the thing about RNG. you can't get lucky if you don't play. and you have to play the exotic drop content.
I've had 5 gjallarhorns in my 400 or whatever hours of game play. it's not that i'm lucky. it's that most of those 400 hours have been doing exotic content. I've probably done crota 50 times, atheon upwards of 50 times. and so on. so really, you feel entitled to receiving gear simply because you exist and play the game. that's not how it works.

I run both raids on hard every week. Is there a point to run it on normal and hard seeing as you get double drop on hard anyway?
-
Yea! Cos you do it on normal and don't get an exotic at the drop point, then you have another go on hard for an exotic drop! Where as if you do it on hard and don't get an exotic then you have to wait till the weekly reset for another go!

Ok thanks for the advice. Guess I'll start grinding on normal again!!

im not saying YOU specifically are doing it wrong. just in general, people seem to just expect that they can participate in destiny and thats enough to acquire every single item the game has to offer. give it time. it'll happen. just gotta do all the exotic content. i still dont have a hawkmoon. oh well.

Thanks mate, I'm easy to be honest I'm not desperate for one. I love this game and play because I still enjoy it n not for the grind
