I'm not interested.
At the end of the day I'm not travelling 100 odd miles to buy 'John Doe' tomato ketchup when Heinz is on the shelf.
My point still stands, it is being sold because people buy it. If no one bought it, it wouldn't be stocked. Shops still have to pay for what they put on the shelves, if they don't make money from that stock they won't sell it.
You can argue that 'X' brand is actually just 'Y' brand under a different name, that may well be true. But if 'Y' brand is obscure and can only be found for sale in the himalayan mountains then I'm damn well buying brand 'X'.

You missed the point. Enjoy your McDonald's.

I don't like McDonalds

Thats the booze your drinking. It's basically the same shit.

I still don't get why you're bothered about my preference for Jack Daniels over your 'Non Mainstream' stuff
-
Because it's shit. There is so much great stuff out there, but you have to look beyond the normal stuff. The brands I'm talking about are there in the stores. They are there, you just have to talk to the clerks and they can tell you quite a bit about them.

I like Jack Daniels because it tastes nice, can be mixed with many things if I fancy something different and/or want to stretch out the bottle a bit further. You can slate my drink choice all you want but it's no different than if I bashed on your music choice. When I want to try something new, I will look for something new. Until then, Jack Daniels and Stella Artois are my go to poisons.
