I've solved the problem with exotics!!

Alright, so the community is constantly up in arms over whether or not Xûrning your weapons is BS or not. Some say that earning strange coins and buying is just as much as earning from a drop. But the other side says that earning coins didn't require you to do anything difficult to get your weapon. You grinded for coins on ROCs and weekly strikes, but you can easily buy exotics without touching the higher level content (raids and nightfalls) so therefore you don't really deserve the weapon. People bitch about the RNG system, noobs wearing the armor they earned from nightfalls just because the noob happened to get lucky with a legendary engram. Exotics don't currently live up to their name, nor are they difficult to get at all. That's a major flaw in the game as it is right now, and something has to change. Here's how we solve this: Each exotic should have a quest or a bounty that you need to complete before you can wield it. Once you acquire an exotic, this quest/bounty should show up on your map, and you cannot wield the exotic until you complete the quest. These quests should be VERY hard, VERY long, and have a real story behind them. I also think you should be required to solo them, that way your high level friends can't carry you through. They should be kind of like a raid, except longer, and more complex, and obviously more suited for just one person. And they should be hard; not in the sense "let's see how many people you can kill". They should be extremely complex and hard to figure out. This is somewhat copying what Runescape (for all you hard core MMORPG players) did for their high level weapons/armor. I remember having to do some of those quests for the really high level weapons, and they were HARD and a pain in the ass!! But man... it was satisfying when you completed it. And the weapons you wielded told your characters story. When I saw a guy wielding high level stuff, I knew what he had to do to get it, and I respected them more for it. These quests can't just be stupid grind bounties, like: complete 100 strikes, or get 500 kills with arc damage in the crucible. No. That's retarded, it's not fun, and it's not satisfying when you're done. It needs to be a story. A full separate event that you get to do on your own. They need to be a true test of skill and wits. They should not be a grind, should not be a pushover, they should be fun and exciting. This system would allow the RNG system and Xûr to stay the same, because regardless of what weapons you have in your inventory, you need to EARN the right to wield it. This should only be the case for exotics. It would make them a lot more special and help them live up to their "exotic" name. What do you think? I think this would add SO much to the game, and it would help level the playing field. It would stop everyone from being able to buy there way to level 31, and it would stop low level 20s from being able to wield exotics. Edit: Does anyone remember in Runescape having to do the "monkey madness" quest before you could wield a dragon scimmy? Or the Roving Elves before wielding the crystal bow?.... Ahhh good times.... That shit was so sick. Edit 2: Diecutman had the excellent idea of doing this idea with a new, more elite, and smaller class of weapons. That way it would be a fresh slate, each weapon (or armor) would have its own new story, and if it were a much smaller class of weapons, it would be less to grind, and most importantly, it would be easier for Bungie to implement. Love it! I think that's better actually. Edit 3: the difference between the mentality of the RPG players vs. the FPS players is very interesting. Based on responses, it's pretty obvious who is accustomed to the usual RPG and who just likes to play shooters in PvP.
