3 RepliesNecromorphs do exist bro. They are what we politely refer to as Desticles. Continued exposure to the game we do not talk about has regressed their minds to a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal state. They are forever destined to shamble upon the earth like zombies, seeking the fabled weapon Gjallahorn. There is truly no hope for them. Best we hunt them down, cut off their limbs and put them out of their misery :-)

They kinda defy the law of conservation of mass so....yeah.

Look up Aghori, these people eat the dead bodies and drink from the skulls from the dead bodies found in the Ganges River in India. They believe they get great powers from the dead and wash their ashes over their bodies. They believe it makes them closer to Shevia.

1 ReplyIf I ever see a marker on Earth I'm getting the hell out of there.

I've heard of an organism that can reanimate ants, so I wouldn't say its that crazy of a possibility.

Edited by Leo687: 4/4/2015 3:04:03 PMMaybe not through the process shown in the game (the markers etc) but if life is wide spread as many believe throughout the Galaxy/Universe then I'd bet yes out of all the billions/trillions of planets that could house trillions of variations of evolution/life then 1 species may very well have evolved such a parasitical nature. Hell we have a close fitting Zombie species on earth. A fungus that infests its host takes over the brain and once the host is going to die they climb a tree and the fungus sprouts out of its body so that spores can infest others. Hell there's even a worm that makes mice/rats suicidal it only reproduces inside the guts of cats when they pooh it passes out eggs when a rat or mouse eats the feces the eggs hatch inside of it take over the brain and actually overrides the mouses/rats natural fear of cats and makes them run at them to be eaten as its the only way this worm can reproduce (inside a cats stomach. And that's only two species on earth.
it only infects species of Ants but with nature species lines can be crossed though it takes time
Higly improbable.
-
unlikely but it really depends on if we ever found a marker here on earth. The running theory is the markers seed life onto planets to promote evolution so the subsequent lifeforms can build more markers.
-
No. The biological nature of them would be incredibly difficult to achieve. That and the whole blood moon aspect.

Edited by Tibbaryllis2: 4/4/2015 3:35:36 AMWe do have fungi and parasites on this planet that make their hosts react in peculiar ways. Several flat worms (fluke worms)are capable of causing suicidal tendencies in their insect/vertebrate hosts by causing them to hang out in areas where their predators are likely to be found, thus enabling the parasite to infect the predator. One parasite (toxoplasma gondii) in cat stools has been shown to have a positive correlation with suicide in humans. Cordiceps fungus also does something similar in insects, it will cause the infected insect to wonder into the prime area to release its spores allowing for maximum possible spread of its spores to future hosts. Also recent research is starting to show the bacteria in your stomach greatly impacts your mental health and behavioral tendencies. Source: I'm a biologist, but this is all easily found through Google.
