Iron Banner Level 32's and Raiders both Earned their Light Level
I don't have any raid or Iron Banner legendary gear as of yet so no I'm not biased, but I would say that those who reached level 32 through the Iron Banner have earned their light level just as much as raiders. They had do grind up their IB reputation all the way to five each week for 3-4 Iron Banner events in order to purchase that gear, maybe more if they missed a week. I'm not saying you're a scrub if you have level 32 through raid gear, that's how most people did it after all, but that's all RNG. You did still earn your level though if you did the raids, at least in my opinion. My point is to get people to stop hating on Iron Banner 32s. Please bump and comment if you agree. if you don't agree you can say why.

Logically only IB did. Raiders got their gear through [b]Rng[/b] meanwhile PvPers went through the shotgun infested IB to rank up and [b]buy[/b] their gear.

1 ReplyI think it's sad that people call it earning gear with an RNG system. I did Crota once with my friend, his first time, and got the arms. It was my 10th time doing Crota, my friend got boots, body, and gloves... His1st shitting time. I in my 50+ raids still haven't got 3 armor pieces. Screw all the raid purists.

1 ReplyIf you hit 32 at all then good on you. It does not come without considerable time investment after all. But I do agree that there are more meaningful ways to have that rank than others. Which I think is actually a creative aspect of the end-game because you hit max level and then spend your time legitimizing your max level however you choose. I only wish that there was a way to max your IB gear through the Crucible, because that would make sense out of the 32 Light it possesses. Plus it would let you rep that gear proudly without having to always play behind the Raiders in terms of commitment to max level. I have huge respect for the Crota no Exotic 32 guardians for that investment, but the IB 32's (of which I am nearly a member) can get that level only through mining Ascendants in the only places they can if they don't raid, and that's just a weak progression system imo. Give the IBs a way to prove our 32's on the battlefield and we will silence the critics.

1 ReplyI'm suprised that a kinda unexperienced/new player has got such a good perspective on this topic. I've got 3 32s with both IB and Raid armor and I'd definetly say that it took the same amount of time to acquire them. Kudos!

I'm an iron banner 32 lol I just hope they have the iron banner helmet with 36 light the next time it comes. So I can run my crest of alpha lupi, and ruin wings and be able to stay at lvl 32 when they are equipped.

I'm one who fully believes both 32 scenarios earned their way to a 32. I'm more upset at bungie for making it possible to be a 32 without raiding. I feel like raids are the biggest differentiator for Destiny, and they're supposed to be the 'pinnacle' of this game. So for bungie to allow people to skip raiding and still attain the games highest rank seems wrong to me.

1 Reply32 is 32. Whatever combination of gear you have used to get there is your business. There are no "True 32's" just idiots claiming their path was the "True" one. I have Raid, Banner and Exotics for my Warlock, it's called having options ;)

People who have no skill or no friends or wanna get a 32 the easy way play iron banner. Iron banner groupies will tell you that it's tougher because it takes sooooooooo long to rank up....really? Different roll options of intellect, discipline, strength, ammo maximums and ammo reloads. 4. Boots give extra heavy ammo 5. Way larger timeframe to get 6. Takes less time to attain (a raid takes less time then Iron Banner rank 3) Iron banner gear 1. It's waaaaaaaaaaaaay better looking then Crota gear. 2. Not RNG so you can actively try for a certain piece and have a chance to guaranteed get it
