Just wanted to share my crucible journey so that people out there that are struggling have some hope. I was an absolutely dismal player at PVP when Destiny first came out and was a garbage 0.30 k/d in the crucible. At first I hated PVP and cried like everyone else about OP weapons and all the other excuses that most FPS players use when they are bad at PVP. Finally after a bit I wanted to do some of the exotic bounties that required PVP, so I made myself realize that Destiny wasn't COD/BF/Halo, etc. and forced myself to play crucible a bit more to learn how it worked.
I also watched a ton of Byf's videos on crucible on how to improve, started trying out different weapons and play styles, and eventually the lightbulb went on and I got halfway decent. My Titan was my main and it took a while to recover from the negative kill ratio I had from the start of the game, but I've slowly worked my way back up to 1.00. I recently started playing on my warlock and have been positive every match almost. Now I still have games where I play pretty bad and go below 1.00, but I also have a lot of games where I got between 2.00-3.00, just kind of depends on the teammates I get and the lag.
Anyways, TL:DR...basically I just wanted to share my experience and maybe show some people that don't feel they can compete in the crucible, that you can improve and get better and enjoy the PVP in Destiny. I used to be really bad, but now I can hold my own and even enjoy Iron Banner.

This is my first shooter game I've played in my life (strict christian parents) so I kind of expected myself to be absolutely terrible. I didn't play crucible until level 20. My best primary weapon was Another NiTC. Scout rifle is probably the worst weapon to start off crucible with when you've never played before, especially in these small maps. Then slowly I accumulated some better weapons, and started doing a little better. When I started I would get maybe 2 kills a match. Then I got up to about 10. But I still had a negative k/d. Then I realized, wait, if I don't just run right at people and randomly across the map, I won't die as much. And since then my k/d has gone up. I taught myself how to snipe, and I was using TLW, but I've switched to Bad Juju. Now I'm playing much better than I did when is started. I still have crap games, but I tend to hold my own/help my team win.
