  • Halo 2 > every other fps afterwards. That's when the actual gaming community was a REAL community. No kdr bs, no YouTube scrubs only going for Montage clips, free dlc!!! Also that's when the developers actually cared about quality of their product. PLUS DUAL WIELDING!!!

    • Hard to decide, but I will say this. Halo 4 won't even come close to my favorite Halo game. At least in the Multiplayer side.

    • Halo 2 had the best campaign to me and multiplayer. Halo 3 and reach are a close second. Halo 1 was pretty repetitive at times in the campaign but the multiplayer was fun and was my first exposure to fps

In surprised Reach is leading the votes. It's the first (proper) Halo game I didn't finish. Played CE pretty much every day for 3 years. 2 for about at least a year and a half. 3 for a good 6 months. Reach made it to the bombing run in the campaign. Never finished it. Played about 6 games of multiplayer. 4 played maybe the first 4 levels. Never touched it again. Edit: I did play a bit more Reach, but that was only to recreate The Complex from GoldenEye in the Forge (and yes, it was awesome).

    • Ughhh soooooo hard to answer. Halo 1 was where it all began. I remember going to a friends house just to play the Silent Cartographer mission that came on a demo disc before the game released! Halo 1 holds a dear place in my heart. Halo 2 was fun, we didn't have Xbox live but we still had fun with the campaign and multiplayer (still referring to my friend). Halo 3, I spent the most time on it and it was the first game I played online. Between it and ODST, I worked really hard at the end for Recon Armor though I don't have anything to show for it these days belittling the challenge of a few of those Vidmaster achievements. Halo Reach was a fun grab-bag of community Halo games. It had by far the best Forge mode which me and my Xbox buddies had fun just screwing around with. I even created my own Red Versus Blue spinoff game I called Caboose Ball where you were placed in an arena with Andy the skull (oddball) placed in the middle. To score points you had to get melee kills with Andy while fending off other players with swords in chaotic free for all bliss able to survive only one hit per skull carry. If you didn't have the skull, then you could temporarily work with other players to corner the ball carrier and ultimately betray each other for a chance at grabbing points. I was pretty proud at how well I refined the experience. I never played Halo wars but I got into Halo 4. The story in Halo 4 was cool as well as the new enemies and weapons but it felt too much like it wanted to go too far into a Call of Duty-esque format with the loadouts and such. I actually missed how weapons would spawn in different places on the maps creating battles to control those weapons. It wasn't as chaotic and fun as Halo 3 and Reach. I guess my favorite would be Reach followed extremely closely by Halo 3.

3 and Reach were the best. What made Halo 3 almost perfect was the idea of Equipment instead of armor abilities. You had to be smart with how and when you used it. Reach was almost perfect because of the use of Sprint and Evade. Also because of the massive customization options. But, it was too easy to overuse armor abilities. And Revvy-sniping was annoyimg. What i wish they had done was make Sprint/Evade always active, but inetead of armor abilities, bring back Equipment. Either way, Halo 3 and Reach were the best. Bar none.

    • It makes me happy that Halo 3 is the second highest. For some reason it's always been my favorite, not only because it was the last Bungie one, but it also highlighted the Arbiter-Chief ally/friendship. They're both BA.

      • I loved Reach but I feel like sprint should have come standard. Side note: screw the armor locking campers on sword base. Most annoying thing ever.

      • Halo 3 was the peak of the series. It was early in the 360's generation so there weren't too many other big multiplayer games to compete with it other than Modern Warfare. For a couple of years it was literally the most played game on Xbox Live. I remember every day there was always more than 100,000 people playing Team Slayer alone. I don't think any other game on the 360 has achieved those numbers since and never will now that the new generation consoles are out.

      • I enjoyed Reach the most, as it's multiplayer was a gentler mistress than 3's, it Forge wasn't as worthless as 4's, and it's campaign had some fun moments. Forge was where it was at. You could be complete shit at map design, but you could still make a really fun map. And no other Forge has captured it essence for me. Simplistic, yet eloquent. 3 had some fun maps, but you could hardly do anything, and 4's just seems inherently linear. The customization was bitchin too. You had to work your ass off to get cool looking shit.
