Without a tracking rocket will I ever get accepted for crota hard?
I'm lvl 32 and whilst I accept everyone would like a gally or hoc I think I've got enough experience in crota now to contribute enough to a team but nobody will ever take me on. Admitidly my rocket is probably considered one of the worst out there but it's 331 and I hit crota pretty much every time.
Is having a tracking rocket really that essential on hard? If so I guess I will have to bide my time til I get one
Edit 1: Yeah I'm looking to learn the sword asap. Have watched enough videos and want to start running it on normal first.
Edit 2: Just did it and got fang of ir yut for my efforts :-)

Not everybody needs a tracking rocket launcher in crota hard. Id say only 3/6 people minimum should use tracking rockets while the rest shoot with primary or secondary (icebreaker) weapons.

YOur team would be better off doing ogre room strategy if you do not have a tracking rocket... crota is ALOT closer with that technique

Add in a Radegasts fury which allows me to hold 8 rockets (if I recall correctly) and I don't get yelled at/I get groups even tho I have hunger AND a number of blue valedictorian tracking launchers. And honestly when crota takes a knee, it's no -blam!-ing hard is it to aim with a rocket launcher.

Took a look at your profile... In all honesty, I'd take you with us for a raid anytime. You've got an Icebreaker, and you have an Iron Banner armor piece (so you're clearly willing to put in time and effort). As long as you've got a mic as well, you're good. Not to mention, at least 3 Hungers or Gallies are required (2 if on Normal), so one or two people without them won't make a difference at all.

With no problem at all I'd imagine, contrary to any impression you may get scrolling through the recruitment section, it may be more consistent, but definitely not necessary. There's always people out there that will take anyone in their group, as long as they are levelled enough to enter the instance of course.

It's not necessary, just makes it easier. I used my Radagasts fury with cluster bombs and no tracking up until a couple weeks ago when I finally got HoC. Just gotta aim. Also, I saw a video that clearly shows dragon's breath does the most damage to his shield. More than any other exotic launcher. Again, just gotta aim, and time your shots right. Find new friends if your current ones won't let you join them for crota.

If u ever miss its far better to have 1-2 ppl hitting with ice breaker as long as the other ppl coordinate launch well.

Edit: Just in case the sarcasm was missed, grab a rocket with cluster bombs and aim closer to Crota's feet. That's what I used to do, works pretty damn well.

You can be taken through, but you cannot be effectively counted on for putting crota down, so yeah it's a big deal. The teams you run with should be good enough for it not to matter though. That said, though, without a tracking rocket you are next to useless unless running sword or bubble. If I were you, I would double down on doing normal mode for a Hunger of Crota, and get to churning strikes, and doing the nightfall till you get a tracking rocket.

Yikes! I've never had an issue with this before I got my gally and truth. Just max ur weapons out and post on destinylfg that you have max weapons. Don't mention that you don't have tracking rockets. I never did and no one ever cared.
