Amazing JRPG series. Different characters and story each game unless sequels. I highly recommend avoiding XIII though because people hate it. XV is taking a realistic approach.
-
Whats the gameplay like? And it doesn't matter if I start with XV as I'll still get the story?
-
It won't matter at all since all the stories are different. You will probably be confused about recurring elements but that is about it. The gameplay in FF is turn based except for FF XII and XV.

Edited by BusterLegacyFF7: 4/2/2015 1:02:56 PMTechnically the only turn based games are 1,2, 3 and 10
-
Active time battle is still turn based.
-
And 12 is ATB as well, you just have freedom of movement
-
Technically it's not as there's ways to manipulate it to skip or prolong turns, and with different skills and abilities taking different amounts of time to execute the battle system itself becomes more complex than selecting skills and executing them in descending agility order
-
I'll probably give it a try then. I wanted to get into it before but seeing that I had missed like 13 ff games I thought I would be terribly confused.

You can always go back and play the others. VI and X are amazing. Same with VII, XII and a few others.
