I was recently asked this on an ethics test. How would you answer it?
-
I usually just reply and that shuts them up immediately
-
1 ReplyWear a fedora, grow a neckbeard
-
Devour their cell phone. When they ask for it back, vomit profusely on them. Na but in all honesty I have no Idea how this can be solved
-
3 RepliesText back a magnifying glass for guys, txt back pictures of mosquito bites for girls. Make them feel humiliated then they will stop.
-
HOW? Simple. Threaten to cut off whatever was shown in the pics, or sell it without their consent online to porn sites.
-
Toast/envelope Works every time
-
You teach them to toast/envelope instead
-
14 RepliesDestroy all technology and regress humanity back to the 12th century so we can just drink at pubs with our mates, flirt with wenches, and slay dragons all day.
-
12 RepliesMake a really bad joke Example: Girl: Hey sexy what are you doing Boy: Eating cereal in bed Girl: What would you do if I were in the bed with you Boy: eat my cereal Girl: I mean without the cereal Boy: get some cereal
-
Sext back with tentacles.
-
I guess you could do it with force. Why would you want to stop that?
-
"I do not appreciate you sending me lewd texts, please stop."
-
2 RepliesGet a fat and ugly female and have her send nude pics. No one will ever want to see nude again.
-
That's the problem.
you don't

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
Have kids lol
-
Tell them that their eyeballs will burst into flames and their hands will turn into tennis balls if they sext enough. This happened to me.
-
Post embarrassing pictures of them all over the Internet. No, wait, that's illegal now...
-
3 RepliesA less prudish society.
-
Ask how ethical it is to stop people from doing what they want to do, particularly something that is harmless.
-
Make people unattractive.
-
From personal experience, having your older brother happen to turn on your phone and read them, and lord them over you while you hope he doesn't tell your parents, works pretty well! But if you mean, someone is sexting me and I wish they would stop, I would just nicely ask them to stop with some excuse like, sometimes other people are looking at my phone (pictures or whatever) and if that didn't work, I would say I don't like it, and if that didn't work I would say I don't think of them that way and maybe we should take a break from hanging out.
-
How do you get one person to stop, or a group of people to stop?
-
"I have herpes" usually gets em

Edited by asir: 4/5/2015 3:08:15 PMTell them that if the receiving party doesn't immediately show off your pics to their friends, their nudes will inevitably end up on 4chan anyway when they break up, and that their bare naked ass will always be out there, on some neckbeard's hard drive, waiting to resurface later in your life when you least expect it. All it takes is one Anon to say, "hey, I know that person!"
-
That kind of behavior I find to be silly, especially amongst people under 18, because that counts as child p0rn, basically I'm saying if people thought about the kind of consequences that could occur after sending a picture like that, then maybe there would be less of that sort of thing.

Edited by Ricochet 049: 4/5/2015 1:18:41 PMThe real question should be: "why?" But if we are going to assume the ethical answer is "yes". We should consider what has the greatest impact. Constant observation eliminates privacy. Jamming defeats the purpose of communicating. putting up rules will only stop people who intend on following them.
