I am beginning to think that Bungie may have nerfed auto rifles too much especially in PvE. They seem to have gone into a kind of grey area where they are outclassed by other weapons and don't really even fill the medium range engagement role well. I think that they should look at a very small buff in PvP and a slightly larger buff in PvE. I don't have anything scientific, but they just feel underpowered now.
What do you guardians think?

Find a low rate of fire high impact auto rifle and you will see they are perfectly fine. It is the high rate low impact ones that are bad. Auto rifles are fine right now. Before they were the only weapons used in crucible and now only those that like and are talented use them. I don't see that as a problem

1 ReplyEvery one tell bungie fix auto rifles it went from the best weapons to the worst

1 ReplyEdited by nextlevelsalty: 4/8/2015 3:31:44 AMI feel they should revert the damage reduction but not the range. Half the reason Autorifles were overused is that their effective range was far too long. I'm fine with them having the same damage profile before the nerf, just keep the range like it is currently.

I used to love using auto rifles but it just isn't worth it anymore, nothing should ever be nerfed, only bumped.

I think AR should have some advantage over the other primary gun selection.

5 RepliesAm I the only one thinking that they need to be "de-nerfed" not "re-buffed"?? I thought damage in pvp was based on impact? I rock a vanquisher viii and get by just fine
-
I never use any of mine anymore. Suros and company just hang in the vault, ashamed of being so useful they had to be put in a corner. Maybe by not using them, at all, we can send a message. I doubt it though

2 RepliesAuto Rifles have gone the way of the HALO CE PISTOL. Gone but not forgotten...the most balanced and useful weapon class across multiple scenarios...nerfed...due to complaints and noob outcry. AR you will be missed...Hello Pulse Rifles.
-
3 Repliesagreed they're useless at every range in pvp now if your in a real gunfight and good luck even if you catch them looking the other direction i don't even carry auto rifles anymore other than maybe abyss defiant if theres solar burn on phogoth's strike. Oh and thanks for ruining the mythoclast too bungie, way too have the two hardest and most prized guns to get in the game be complete jokes, I haven't even used the nechrocasm yet its just been sitting on whatever character I'm not using. I don't take out the vex out except to do that bounty where you need 20 fusion rifle multi kills. I don't really appreciate what they did to fusion rifles at all they could have just dropped the amount of special ammo you could get in crucible and things would have been fine its not like they're used nearly as much as shotguns are

1 ReplyWhat I don't get is why did they freaking nerf the damage... The range is what they said the problem is and instead they make auto rifles so unusable that an uncommon hand cannon would probably be more useful in PVP and PVE... ARs are a joke now and your nerf doesn't even make any sense whatsoever... The fact that something shoots bullets repeatedly makes it easy to use so people are going to use it because it is easier to aim it. And for those who are saying that it doesn't take skill to kill someone with an auto rifle how much skill does it take to run around shotgun meleeing people?
-
1 ReplyYes! No one uses them anymore
-
4 RepliesIm with you man, but i believe they should be re-buffed only for PvE and only between 0.5% to 1.5% to avoid from becoming OP again
-
They should be rebuffed to their former glory, I still usually used hand cannons back then anyways but sometimes switched it up and used Suros
-
Yeah.
-
3 RepliesThis has to be the 200th thread about this. Auto rifles are fine, think about it. Pulse rifles, scout rifles and hand cannons do not throw the same amount of ammo at an opponent as an AR. They should require ALOT more hits than any other weapon.
-
1 ReplyThey turned them into bb guns

1 ReplyEdited by Sergeant: 4/2/2015 11:16:17 PMThey've been nerfed 3 times... They needed the first nerf and a range nerf thats all. As for higher impact auto rifles yes they needed a nerf. I blame Suros Regime and Vanquisher VIII for all the nerfs to auto rifles. Never heard anyone complain about the Doctor nope, Payback SoS, Monte Carlo, Hard Light or low impact auto rifles in general and let's be honest aggressive ballistics is a joke for exotic low impact auto rifles. Bungie should of nerfed a select few auto rifles not all of them.
-
Nope, I love wasting three clips of a perfectly useless gun to take only half of someone's health down. Nerf them again!!! Woohoo!
-
I miss my atheon s epilogue

3 Repliesヽ༼ ಠ益ಠ ༽ノ people only complain about auto rifles like the regime because they only know how to play like little bitches and can't learn to play a game properly ヽ༼ ಠ益ಠ ༽ノ

1 ReplyEdited by Sergeant: 4/5/2015 12:47:57 PMIn my honest opinion some of them needed added recoil that's it. The higher the impact the more recoil. No range.... No damage nerf... I really believe auto rifles got nerfed because of the suros regime due to its low recoil and good range.
-
Bungie decided that we don't have to use AR. That is the point.
-
Of course.
-
1 ReplyAll I know is I went from hitting 27 in PvP at point blank to hitting 24 in PvP at point blank. That's well over 2.5%...
-
Bring the AR's back to their former glory, Bungie. Your Non-PvP Players' Union demands it...
-
5 RepliesAll I can say is bungie made there money from us so why should they listen to us. They dont care about our complaints or the community we have told them about buffing up the ar's but so far they have not even listened to us or aren't gonna do nothing about it screw bungie
