What is up with wannabe swordbearers?
I myself don't claim to be an amazing swordbearer but I do ok. I am a Titan and give a hunter the sword if there is one every time. It seems as though these 'amazing' swordbearers don't know what they are doing. I'm not saying all hunters are bad, in fact the contrary, but I get stuck with a lot of rotten apples. What frustrates me is the claims of how they 'killed crota in one sword this one time' or how they 'had two crotas at once, so they killed both and got double rewards'. All it is is lies upon lies. Then when they get killed by crota for being slow and they blame it on things like lag or shortcomings of the team beside them.
So I ask you kindly, if you are a hunter who can't use the sword well, give it to someone who can. Also don't be so full of crap that it leaks out of your mouth.
So I wanted to see if I was the only one having this happen to. Please leave any similar happenings down below, as I do want to hear them. Thank you for your time.

I play as a hunter as my third character and I'll take sword on normal without issues but when it comes to hard I don't have much practice on timing and shit so I warn people before hand about this fact.

If I die, which is pretty rare at the Crota cp unless we are wiping, it is because of lag, crota not going down, the titan leaving his bubble thinking it will keep the boomers attention, blink strike decides it doesn't want to work, etc. Now if they continue to die, then yes they are bad.

1 ReplyIn my experience those who boast often have the least to back it up. Those who are confident in their abilities don't need to prove it. Most I've ever said was that I was "smarter than the average swordbear", but only because I thought it was funny. Not sure if my team actually got the joke though.

I say if you can't use the sword well but want to practice then just say so. Hopefully the group your with will be patient enough to help you out

I say let them do it and they learn. There are too many people that are scared to grab the sword on Crota or the relic in vog. The more people that can do it, the easier the raid is. Teach people.

Fair enough for asking people to be honest,my hunters have limited sword experience so I don't claim to be good, but I will ask for a chance as I want to learn.

3 Replieslol...I downplay my skills all the time when I run sword. I always get asked how many times Ive killed him and usually reply "oh...a couple of times" when, in reality, I have around 190 hard mode kills and 230 kills overall. Needless to say when the teams sees that over half of crotas health is gone after the first sword any arguments as to who is running the sword goes away....actions speak louder than words :)

What bothers me is the people that try to be 1337 mlg sword bearers with a pickup group and we end up wiping several times due to their stupidity. Three hits each down and he's dead. There's no need to do it in two swords with a pickup group, save that for people you know and have time for your bs.

I agree with you, a lot of people claim to be better with it than they are. But I also can't tell you how many times: 1. The sword disappeared 2. Crota got up way early. 3. Crota bitch slapped me before standing. 4. Boomers decided to straight wanted style curve shots into me. 5. Rockets are fired before I call for it. 6. Rockets aren't fired once I call for it. 7. Won't let me drop sword to blink strike. (I admit this one may have been me hitting buttons too fast.)

3 RepliesThere's plenty of fakes out there. Most just make the claim to get in on a raid. Most of the real sword bearers will already have a regular raid group.

Who needs hunters??? I do it just as easy on my Titan and warlock! Same damage same time everything same so dunnow whats up with hunters but i even do sword when good Hunter buddy are with me in the raid as a titan / warlock (HM)

I can run the sword fairly decent. I've been working on five smashes pet down lately, but i actually hate running the sword and will always give someone else the opportunity...

I remember this one hunter was bragging on how he had 4 consecutive crota kills with no fails. After 5 wipes i had a go at sword. One try, and i got a gjallarhorn. He left as soon as it ended lmao

Im a hunter and I can tell you running sword is all about the practice. You learn a system and you stick to your guns and do what you do. But without that practice your all in trouble. For example last night we were all lagging our asses off. Crota was standing but down etc. Just on sheer "I have done this so many -blam!-ing times we killed him on the third attempt." A real hunter or any swordbearer doesnt make bull shit excuses of oh its lagging how did he hit me. I have done this tons of times before etc. you just get it done.

4 RepliesI can honestly do it but man that sh*t is nerve wrecking the first few times and you give in to the pressure. So many things can go wrong but practice makes perfect. Have some consideration.
