How satisfied does cheating in crucible make you feel?
Would it bother you to know that if you cheat, and I suspect it, my entire team and I are reporting... not just to Destiny, but xbl as well?
I honestly could give two sh1ts about your gamer rep...especially if you cheat.
It's a dead giveaway, when you God mode only when capturing or defending control points.
And its also a dead giveaway when i point blank you the face with maxed Felwinters lie and you take zero damage.
I'm sick of every match seeing teams employing 'lag tactics!'. So I'll report YIUR whole team if your partied up.
You've been warned. Don't come crying on forums when Bungine and XBL ban you.

Bungie will definitely be able to tell the difference on their end, so better to err on the safe side and catch the cheaters. Think about it logically: if the persons innocent Bungie will be able to see that it's not a common occurrence and that maybe the game you played them against was an anomaly. On the other hand if they're doing it [b]every game[/b], then they'll be banned and we got another cheating loser off the game.

1 ReplyHow to identify a lag switcher: - do they experience lag in situations where lots of stuff is going on? - are they beating you? If you can answer "yes" to both questions, you are obviously playing against a lag switcher.

Always love seeing people teleporting like nightcrawler when being shot at but moving normally when danger has past. Even got video of people doing this. Plus along with moded controllers and the Titan one system. There is too many ways to cheat. Thankfully I didn't get weaseled too much this last IB because I blocked a lot of those players even though people still got weaseled and happen only once for me. Best thing to do is block so you won't see the again.

Doubt any of the people will be banned simply because they don't know if said person is causing the lag on purpose or if they just have bad connection.

If only they would ban some people... I report anyone who is clearly lagging. And me and my team swears we were up against an aim bot using NLB the other night

I report players will really bad connections. Like the 'I clearly killed you three seconds ago with that super but somehow you killed me after I dropped a Nova Bomb on top of you' kind of connections. Those kind of encounters are the worse.

I also abhor cheats, but sometimes the lag is so bad that it is difficult to separate the two.

I assume that lag is bad connection. I also assume that Bungie's PvP team analyse connection patterns to work out the best possible matchmaking algorithms. Reports must help them to find case studies to analyse. Reporting cheating must be taken with a grain of salt by them though, it's so hard to tell. I don't bother. I will however avoid players who consistently lag. Even some of my friends are avoided because I don't want to play against them because I know how piss poor their connections are (piggybacking of next door's wifi etc)

1 ReplyI've noticed extreme spawn latency, but only since the last IB. You'll be sitting for 15 extra seconds waiting to spawn. Even with all green bar connections and a full team (no late joiners). It happened to me several times this week... I hope its just a bug, and not some form of network manipulation, but it seems like it never effects both teams at the same time.
