Please know what you are supporting before you give BUNGiE and Activision your money
EDIT: I just want to give regards to the few reasonable people who gave what was said concideration regardles of their final desision to buy the DLC or not. My point was not to stop any sales but to inform people of the shady business practices behind it before they made their decision.

Yet when COD has a 4 DLC's a game plan with a new game coming out every year no one seems to care. But you see it on destiny sh*t hits the fan.
-
DLC is not a new thing. No matter how much content is on it, provided by it or given to you. DLC has been around for a lot longer than Destiny. Further, your edits are more in-line with a "Forget everyone who's not agreeing with me" tone what you're intending them to say. I don't even need to watch the video after seeing comments from others to know that the neckbeard is strong with you and was probably more of a ploy to get more views on your subpar video. You're not informing people of anything new. There is no shady business practice. You don't agree with it and it's fine, but there's nothing wrong with the way it's being done. Old News is not New News.

Edited by ToastWithNoCrust: 3/31/2015 5:56:22 PMPersonally i don't believe that the locked content on disc is complete. We only see new level designs and that's it, programming the mechanics into the story missions and strikes are a lot of work, and don't forget the raid, that would take a lot of work to complete, not to mention designing and modeling new gear and weapons, and so on. But in saying all this i found TDB was way over priced. First off we are going back to previous levels, thats little work for them. The 3 PvP maps are notting new in terms of how they look, they use old textures that we have seen before, not much work put in there. And yes a new raid which was a lot of fun but full of glitches. All of this is totally fine with me, but not with a 20$ price tag. My hopes for HoW is that it has more content and will introduce something new that we haven't seen yet. I mean look at how much they made of the game and the first DLC, whats stopping them from making something amazing in DLC 2? Its just greed at its finest! Less content for more money, its scary to think about the future of where games are headed.
-
I will support HoW DLC but after this. Comet had BETTER bring more to the table. I understand that this is a FPS before anything else. But still. That is unacceptable for the mediocre story we received for what is supposed to be this massive universe rich with lore.

A.) these are not "shady" practices. It's called business 101. You (the end user) are just more aware of the practices, thus your perspective changes. The practices are no different than most other business models where the idea is to make money and please stakeholders...only you and I are not privy to the inside scoop. B.) you lose any credibility when you start ranting and dropping f-bombs left and right. Also it's ironic that the game you are complaining about is the same game you are playing while making said complaint.

Shut the -blam!- up

Edited by Gulf Coast Girl: 3/31/2015 4:32:00 PMNope... stopped after first 10 seconds. Nothing I find more irritating than someone putting up a video that is nothing more than them playing crucible while running diarrhea mouth about their thoughts on something else. Seriously, no one cares about your crucible game and if you have something to ACTUALLY show about HoW... then SHOW IT. Otherwise, shut up... no one cares ETA: OP I have no idea if that is your video or just one you posted so my "you" and "your" are meant in the general sense

I hate giving people money to make a product I enjoy and have had hundreds of hours of entertainment from.
-
1 ReplyDude you know what's sadder? That you listen to other people's BS that you miss out on some good gaming. It's really easy to figure out whether you got your money's worth. How much hours did you spend on this game?
-
2 RepliesMeh, you pick and choose what to criticize. Most businesses shady practices don't affect the majority, therefore go unnoticed. But the video game industry directly affects it's huge following, not in life altering ways, but more so with the amount of enjoyment one gets out of a game. I understand and completely agree with the guys thought that we could see drastic cuts in game content by future releases based on the success of destiny. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on destiny, I do enjoy the game. But I also know that it wasn't completely what was advertised, what made it worthy of a $60+ game. Look at mass effect. Bioware didn't put the most effort into pvp but unloaded everything they could into the story. The amount of content in that game coulda raised the price to $100 easy. When there was a fallout from ME3's ending, most of the people I knew who played the game couldn't have cared less about the ending because the game had so much content you became engrossed in its story. It would be pretty bad to see games like that having content cut because other games have succeeded with that business model. I'll probably stick with destiny until Bioware and bungie blesses it's followers once again because I enjoy the game, but I would like to see destiny beef up its story.

OMG Who the hell cares?! all you -blam!-ing sheep want shit for free. its $20 if you dont like how they do the DLC or cant afford $20 maybe you should just stop playing destiny.
-
If I had a nickel for every time someone posted this video, I would be making my own games.
-
1 ReplyWow, he talks a lot but says nothing. Same things over and over and over and Oh, I got bored.
-
Sounds like good business decisions to me. So no fault to activision on that one. Now if the public didn't buy into it in there future, would they have the good business sense to alter their strategy and get us back? I personally am happy with the content and the amount of play time I get out of it. But Games aren't my priority entertainment. I spend way more on dinner that only lasts a few hours max (just to put it into perspective). Good analysis. Though, a little long winded and kind of obvious.
-
What would you guys rather have? A 50 gb download to unlock all these areas and import everything or a 5 gb download? This is actually pretty smart. When comer gets released, I'm going to assume the same thing will happen, where there is a massive download, and it will have the other 2 areas locked out.

7 RepliesWait... Oh no... Guys. This video just told me what we have been fearing all this time! The companies... They did smart things for *shiver* money! *gasps and chatter fill the room* It's also occurred to me that the same way we are human, and like money... they do too!! *more gasps and chatter* Apparently... They have families too! And food to buy! And... And.... The aren't making this game for charity!!!!! *faints*

6 RepliesYeah businesses should not make money to remain a business. Ppppffftt! The game is definitely worth 60 bucks, and 20 bucks for the DLC does not bankrupt me. Some games charge a monthly fee for an MMO, not Destiny.
-
That guy on the video is assuming too much. It could also be because companies like to work on content ahead of time to make deadlines. Here's really the truth. YouTubers like this guy like to talk about "controversial" bullshit for channel views so they can get famous or attention or some monetary reward. So in reality it's not just corporation who can be duplicitous.
-
That's like building a house and leaving plumbing and electric behind for a later addition... ppl gunna buy it anyway, why not? If you love to play, who cares if it was there to begin with!
-
I hate videos like the one you just linked. "Here let me show you a multiplayer montage while I talk about something completely unrelated to what you are watching."
-
Im not going to watch I just don't care, the game is still fun I've got the SP I'll but the comet
-
Actually I have other qualms to pick with Bungie vision. Ever since I bought this game I haven't played the other game I paid full price for. So this game has actually cost me money because I basically paid for other games for nothing in return!!! Destiny, why do you have to be so addicting :(
-
Bro. You don't control us. We already know what Activision has done to this game and honestly if we're still playing by house of wolves we just must not care. If this bothers you that much stop playing.
-
Such a Rip off, these scam artists should be crucified. Most of us only have hundreds of hours into this game for 60 bucks. Seriously when I spend60 bucks I expect to be done with the game after no more than 20 hours. It's the only way to get my money's worth.
-
Your fault as a consumer for falling for the hype.
-
1 ReplyIf you didn't support a company because of shady business practice then you would never buy anything from any company or have any money in a bank or have credit card. Every singe company out there has done shady business and Alot worse then Bungie has.
