EDIT: I got this post from a guy 7vnSound on IGN who made a great point. I honestly completed the raids plenty of times and the Destiny family is excellent. The point that saying matchmaking would ruin the game because you would be playing with randoms is completely invalid due to the fact that the community itself has made a system where you find RANDOM people to raid with and complete it with errors here and there. Yes, matchmaking should be implemented for Normal raids only. Im a 32 Hunter who's helped plenty of Guardians and not once have I helped someone who made the game less of an experience. When people go into a raid they already know it will be hard and a bit frustrating, but its never a "OH MY GOD, YOU SUCK GET OUT AND WE WILL FIND SOMEONE ELSE" When someone messes up you simply pair them with a Guardian who's more experienced. I know because I used to be new like everyone else. ALSO EVERY SINGLE TIME everyone has there boots on the ground before it even starts, everyone discusses there raid knowledge and who knows what there doing and who are new. So getting frustrated with someone is never a SERIOUS issue because you all established from the jump who was new, and most people will always be a helping hand to teaching them how to get past sections successfully. When you have 23% of your community completing raids, a lot of guys want to keep it that way so they can feel like there better than the other guardian when that should never be the case. I can back up everything I say because I'm one of those guys who helps others and have gotten plenty of randoms to complete the raid. Its sad when you have simple minded people who are so focused on raids being this "ELITE STATUS" of people when there are others who simply want to play the raid to experience it for themselves. I am a Guardian who SUPPORTS matchmaking.

No. Why? Because: 1) there are too many current issues with the matchmaking that Bungie has instituted without viable solutions, such as AFKers and people attempting content above their level while being underequipped. The community has already become divided on these issues since matchmaking implementation and adding it to a raid without fixes would only create further discord. You would have to institute a kick option and find a way to ensure it isn't abused to troll players. 2) You have to remember raids have checkpoints, unlike strikes. They would need to devise a way that would make certain people didn't matchmake into a raid at the last checkpoint when they hadn't completed the first 3 or 4. 3) If someone gets dropped due to server issues or otherwise, their place can easily be taken by a new random player, shafting the first player out of completing the fight without potentially starting over. You would have to devise a way to lock a fireteam or turn off the matchmaking, which couldn't happen since in a normal raid, one person is fireteam leader, however if you notice in matchmade strikes, each person is listed on their own screen as the leader. Edit: 4) Ever been in a matchmade strike that takes too long and people quit? Yeah, imagine that with a raid. Dropping from 6 to 5 or less because people don't want to tough it out. Then you're stuck waiting for another person to matchmake in or...getting on an lfg site to find someone. I get it, people want to raid, but matchmaking isn't the best solution. Find a clan, or use the100.io to get placed into an instant clan of people. It's easy, put in some basic info, get dropped into a group of like minded players, post a session or join a current one, and commence raiding. The100 is 10x better than an lfg site.
