EDIT: I got this post from a guy 7vnSound on IGN who made a great point. I honestly completed the raids plenty of times and the Destiny family is excellent. The point that saying matchmaking would ruin the game because you would be playing with randoms is completely invalid due to the fact that the community itself has made a system where you find RANDOM people to raid with and complete it with errors here and there. Yes, matchmaking should be implemented for Normal raids only. Im a 32 Hunter who's helped plenty of Guardians and not once have I helped someone who made the game less of an experience. When people go into a raid they already know it will be hard and a bit frustrating, but its never a "OH MY GOD, YOU SUCK GET OUT AND WE WILL FIND SOMEONE ELSE" When someone messes up you simply pair them with a Guardian who's more experienced. I know because I used to be new like everyone else. ALSO EVERY SINGLE TIME everyone has there boots on the ground before it even starts, everyone discusses there raid knowledge and who knows what there doing and who are new. So getting frustrated with someone is never a SERIOUS issue because you all established from the jump who was new, and most people will always be a helping hand to teaching them how to get past sections successfully. When you have 23% of your community completing raids, a lot of guys want to keep it that way so they can feel like there better than the other guardian when that should never be the case. I can back up everything I say because I'm one of those guys who helps others and have gotten plenty of randoms to complete the raid. Its sad when you have simple minded people who are so focused on raids being this "ELITE STATUS" of people when there are others who simply want to play the raid to experience it for themselves. I am a Guardian who SUPPORTS matchmaking.

I firmly believe that when you go ask any seasoned raider which raid was the most special, the answer would probably be "the first one". You know, the raid in which you didnt have 6x 32 lvl guardians with 6x 331 Gjallarhorns & 331 Ice Breakers and where everyone didnt know every single step of the raid like the back of their hand. Every time I open some LFG -service thinking "todays the day I'm gonna get into raiding" and then I see all the endless listings which all look something like this; "Lvl 32 something-or-other with all maxed gear, 331 Ghorn, IB, Black Hammer you name it. Experienced only, super fast mode LETS GO". Yeah, I wouldnt wanna play with that guy I even if was equally well geared and experienced. I believe the true test which measures the skill and determination of any player, is to put him/her in a situation where they do NOT have the 100% perfect set up. Just using what you have and working together to make things happen. Anyway, I'm rambling here. Yeah 100% agree with everything you said. Optional matchmaking or some kind of in-game tools for finding not so elitist Guardians to try raiding with.
