If you don't know how to play Skirmish THEN DONT PLAY
This is starting to happen more and more often as I play Skirmish regularly. I get stuck with a mediocre player and a hamster. (They're so terrible I question if they're human..)
Firstly, don't respawn immediately when you die! I take out the 3 enemy players and come to revive you only to see your ghost dissappear... Or when I go to revive while taking fire to get an overshield..
Secondly, stay together! I see too many players just running around aimlessly like it's -blam!-ing rumble.
Lastly, revive your damn teammates! I'll be killed, then my team will take out the other players and literally walk by me and just run straight to the enemies spawn and die..

Also, almost nobody that I've played with in matchmaking has turned on team chat so you can't even tell them what they're doing wrong.
Almost 150 replies. So far a majority agrees with me, but if you don't well I can't make you.

I'm an ok player (getting better) but it is amazing how a good team matters in there. When we played well together, we won. One round was going so poorly I found a pillar to stand on and danced. I actually died less.

Agreed, teamwork is key to winning in said mode, I always stay by my teammates (where applicable)

Yeah can't stand it when I get teammates that don't know that you can revive. I'll typically rush in for revives if the enemy even backs up a little. The over shields are crazy then the enemy gets confused about who to shoot at.

Hmmm... 1st of all I agree with and support all but the flubbing around one, so beyonds that one skilled player able to go alone and bring the enemies fight to another front is just what's needed, I could see a hamster -blam!- that up, but you shouldn't say to never do it

I play skirmish exclusively with friends. We always play using nothing but no land beyond. No grenades. No melee. No secondary or heavy weapons. No super. We actually won a game, once.

I almost never revive teammates if enemies are still around. Assuming you're playing someone decent, that is a death sentence for both of you. If I see a teammate trying to revive me in a hostile area, you bet your ass I'm going to revive myself. I'm not gonna let the other team get free kills.

I agree. [i]But[/i] Sometimes (often) my reflexes take over and I hit x (square) as soon as the respawn is available. An artifact of normal crucible play. My apologies. I always feel kinda dumb.

1 ReplyI don't play Skirmish for these reasons, hell, I love PvP but every playlist is like this (bar reviving). My KD is suffering because of it, and I'm really annoyed because Trials Of Osiris is coming soon, I need a team. What console are you on?

Don't play with randoms then... Problem solved. It's as simple as playing a game or two and inviting good people from your last matches or friend list

Everyone thinks it's run and gun when it's clearly not. If you start off bad it's usually a loss because once your team is split up no one tries to go back to their teammates for safety in numbers. Or if you die a small amount of time after a teammate and have to respawn they are already halfway across the map by the time you come in, trying to get revenge on whoever killed them last. But worst of all is the player who got left behind by two teammates that ditched to orbit, who stays in the game, just him versus three people waiting for someone to join. They are 3000 points ahead by the time I get matchmade into the game and then I just spawn and get slaughtered and repeatedly teabagged like it's my fault and they're some kind of champions of destiny. It's not the opposing team's fault I'm losing. Or mine. It's the guy who refuses to leave and doesn't care about looking like an absolute waste of a combatant. Just go to orbit and give them a win. It's already in the bag for them. Don't make me suffer your demise as well... Tears shed = 1000

This kind of retarded shit happens in all playlists. It's so freaking annoying to clear out zone B, be stood on it as multiple enemies come, and your team mate stands just outside it, hiding. If they just got in we'd capture the zone and slow them down.

I am not the greatest at PvP but team chat goes a long way. A terrible plan is better than no plan. I prefer playing control and I talk anyway in the vain hope someone will listen :/

Dude, I'm convinced the worst players in destiny always manage to end up on my team for skirmish. I don't believe they legitimately got to level 30 because that requires basic ability to aim and shoot, which they cannot do. I've gotten 40 kills and we STILL lost because the fodder on my team couldn't stop throwing themselves into gunfire like a xenomorph. There are many times where I'm convinced I would be better off 1v3. Matchmaking sucks for skirmish.
