mauler VS shotgun
ok mauler VS shotgun whats the diference??? (besides 5 shot mauler)

Shotgun: *More power *6 shots *36 total carried at one time Mauler: *longer range *DW *Faster ROF Those are the big gameplay differences.

Shotgun is much more powerful. Mauler has a faster rate of fire.

shotgun has more power, range, is cheaper, non dual wieldable, non mlg, has more ammo, has its own set of spree medals, and is human. mauler is less powerful, less ranged, covenant, has more melee damage, is in mlg, less cheap, dual wieldable. [Edited on 09.06.2008 10:53 PM PDT]

Shotgun because you can kill somebody from close range and you can throw grenades freely.

I would have to say that the differences are as follows: The mauler is a brute weapon that can be wielded with a single hand, which leaves it with the option of duel wielding. While the shotgun is a Human weapon that has a very high hit point (one shot kill in close range), and can also hit a target at least partially from a distance while the mauler doesnt really have any considerable fire range. Besides that the shotgun and the mauler are both very powerful and deadly weapons in halo 3.

Mauler reloads via replacing the magazine, while shotgun reloads by inserting shells. The Shotgun is more powerful, and has the extra shot. But the mauler can be dual wielded (my personal favorite is a Magnum on the side).

Is it me? or is every post becoming more blunt & repetitive? to answer your question - 1. Find out for yourself or if you can't 2. Mauler drops your shields with one point blank shot, while the Shotgun kills in 1 shot by default damage and shields, also the shotgun is meant to counter lunges (Hammer/Sword) but if latency differs it won't work.
