The player level should be his current level, not his level when he played the activity. We currently show the player's level (and emblem) based on the "last time we looked" which may be somewhat old. If you click on the player's name and view his legend, and then go back you will see that it has updated. We have plans to improve this but it will be sometime before we get to it.
