Not sure if this tells my age but has anyone ever noticed that video games never come with a real manual anymore? You know the little booklets that comes with games that has the instructions and little biographies of characters and vehicles and such.. i remember how i use to bring those booklets to school and read them during reading time as a kid.
Am I the only one who misses those manuals?

I miss the Sly 1 manual. I liked being able to tell people I owned the Theivius Raccoonus.
-
Yeah... But I learn to do it anyway.

I have noticed this and I hate it. I liked to be able to grab the book when I was bored. I would read them and a look at all the illustrations. Sometimes I would even learn something new about the game's story. Plus, those things taught my brother and I how to read. We would flip through those things when we were four years old and just sound out every single word. I wish they still had physical copies.

I miss them too i still read my F3 manual

Halo 2 manual best manual
-
Yeah I noticed but now I'm on PC there are no manuals anyway
-
The manuals are in the option menu usually it saves a shit ton of money
-
Agree!!! I was looking for one in MKX (remember when the moves where in the booklet? I miss that...)
-
Games are made for casuals now so no need for Manuals anymore.
-
I stopped buying physical copies because the manuals aren't what they used to be.
-
Ubisoft made an official decision to stop using them and it seems everyone fallowed. Sad.
-
I miss them. Always with that useless notes section at the back lol.
-
Yes... Good times, good ol' times...

Absolutely. Fantastic throne read. Even more relevant now with installs and updates common practice

You actually needed it to get past a mission in MGS1.
-
I thought I was the only one who missed these. "Wipes tear away"
-

-
Halo CE came with one and it was awesome
-
Id always call my brother a noob for reading those
-
Well I'm 17 so I can feel you, I also remember back in the day they still sold the game cube couple years back. Now they dropped it & there were lots of amazing games on it now that I think of it. So I know I'm not that young or old to remember those booklets in the video games.
-
Well now we have these neat things called Smart Phones and with a few taps with our fingers we can look them up ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
Ahh, I remember reading those things to appease my excitement when I was on the way home with a brand new game.
-
I am cause I'm a total noob without them unless it's old or my dads already played it

I guess developers are trying to be "eco friendly" or some shit. That's fine I guess but I still really miss those manuals. The one that came with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was really helpful at the time. R.I.P. game manuals. :(
