You really only need to keep VOC, Fatebringer and Praetorian Foil from the VOG raid.
You also forgot to mention to the 9 weapon slots per character. Which is another 27 open slots.

Yeah i think 16 will be plenty for now. I only ever transfer necessary exotics and weapons to each character so I think that'll be good enough. Plus with the mobile vault it'll just make it that much easier
