Hard as -blam!- and soon to be out of work. Sucks the way your industry is headed here in Alberta man, hope it all works out for the better

Yeah doesn't the oil industry go through phases of booms and busts?
-
Big time, the best part is seeing the ones who've made 250k/year for, the last 10 years, doing nothing and have zero back up plan even though they know the bottom can and will fall out at any time. Sad but all too true up here

Interesting! I'm going to school to become a Geologist and I was thinking about getting into the oil industry. I'm still not decided yet!

The industry does this every so many years. Not much of a change, and always survived. Always need it! And pipeliners are luckly more versatile compared to other carrers in the industry with decommissioning and stuff like that.

Good deal man. I'm in Construction and the amount of laid off oilfield scrubs that are applying now is insane. Most say "I'm good at lifting stuff" when i ask their skills lol. Keep on rockin that machine man, all the best

Noice! I did general construction for about 8 year before doing the pipeline. Building roads, waterlines, bridges, and what ever else. Pretty sure any of the laborers that came running for work were the fat trimmings, cause during the boom we have alot of over paid place fillers pretty much lol.
