How do you feel about the credibility of a higher K/D players vs a player with a lower K/D? Should a players opinions and views be respected the same regardless of their K/D? Why should K/D be an indication for you to take a player seriously or not? Should it matter? What are you views on the matter?
Discuss.

As of now? Yes. As it should be? No.

When it comes to crucible balance comments. KD matters. Some dude w/ 3+ commenting about what gun is broken is more credible vs a dude w/ .1 suggesting weird ass fixes.

I would have a great k/d if I took it seriously but I dont, I can ruin other teams when im actually playing, as far as im concerned, k/d means nothing
-
No, I would know more about the game then a lot of higher kd players. Fps pvp just don't come natural to me so I have to work hard to improve and have a long way to go.

K/D being used as a tool to rate the quality of all players is a terrible method. You should actually try to play with the person to see their quality, not base it off of stats that don't take into account all variables, I.e. campers, lag switchers, bad connections, terrible teams, etc etc

KD can be misleading. A good player that runs with the same team all the time is obviously going to have a good KD. A good player that always plays with random that don't use their headsets has my KD.

kd doesn't matter in destiny. every one uses a thorn or last word lol instant 3.0

How many times have you played control with a guy/girl who has an good game 25-30 kills 5-10 deaths. But 1 zone capture?.. I'm not saying it's not important but a team that works on controlling zones and strategising wins 2/3.. Me and mates are not crucible masters but we regularly win matches working together!
ITS A TRAP!!!
let me just say one thing... you sheep better not run alone

Of course, we are awesome. That is all.

Depends what you want to learn or the questions you ask. My kd is somewhere around 1.1. I always learn how to best stay alive when I learn a new fps, that way I can focus on defensive strategies in objective games - if I'm difficult to kill while maintaining an objective, my team mates are out doing other things or mopping up. When I do decide to go out attacking, learning how to stay alive first gives that little edge to work with.

I got the thorn bounty, had one rare void shotgun, played pvp for 2 weeks got to 100 points my kd was ruined, but on saturday, my mate got the thorn bounty, i went round his house to do it for him, 4 games, took me 4 games i was gutted with myself, i wish i waited until i got better at pvp and had the right guns

Answer is, k/d matters. It shouldn't as it's easily possible for a good player to have a k/d of 1 and a bad one to have 1.5, but there's millions of players out there and k/d is the quickest, most visible short-hand on how good at PvP you are.
-
It is wishy washy in my opinion, I have matches with 4.0 kd, the next match I might have 0.3 kd..... Up and down every game.
-
I respect people's opinions, even if they have a K/D of 0.1. K/D is not the full story of a player. In PvE and Raids especially. Basing your opinion of someone strictly on K/D is just dumb. There are way too many ways you can pad your K/D. In fact, is someone has an extremely high K/D, but no Raid completions, and they are talking about the Raid, I may take what they say about the Raid with a grain of salt. In PvP, I play control. If someone has a very high K/D but almost no flag captures, I know they just camp in the back and won't risk themselves to help the team. But I will still read what they have to say. I don't respect douchebags though. If someone is just a douchebage, there will be no respect, no matter what.

For the following questions I will use the scenario that I am picking between two players to attempt a flawless trials.
How do you feel about the credibility of a higher K/D players vs a player with a lower K/D?
I would say K/D is 60% accurate of someones abilities. If I were picking between two players, the larger the K/D gap the more inclined I would be to pick the higher K/D player. However, if the difference is .2 or less I wouldn't factor K/D into my decision.
Should a players opinions and views be respected the same regardless of their K/D?
Yes, not everyone may have the Hand Eye coordination or reaction times to maintain a 3.0 K/D, but that doesn't mean they can't be an excellent strategist or knowledgable about PvP.
Why should K/D be an indication for you to take a player seriously or not?
I take all players opinions seriously. (Provided their at least making sense and have an idea of what they're talking about)
Should it matter?
Someone's K/D shouldn't ever be the sole reason for a decision, rather it should be the "cover of the book" so you can make some educated guesses on their abilities based on their stats.

In Pvp yes. It's the best watermark of how good they are. To be frank I don't care is someone is 0.1 or 20 kd for me to play with them unless it's trails and I really want to go flawless again.
-
I never look at kd. I know when im on song im a better than average player but with all the supers n balance issues kd shouldnt really be looked at unless you play the game for money.
-
Well, I havent found anyone on the forums who's wouldn't play cause of a low k/d. And as far as I'm concerned, I occasionally use stoopid guns in the crucible for the lulz and end up screwing up my k/D even more. Unless when it's the trials, that's when I pull my shit together. So yeah, I don't think it really matters as much...
-
Kd really only matters in non objective games. Objective games it requires captures and then a good defence. I have a decent kd and I don't under value any player. All players have potential to be great and all are good in their own ways. I can adapt to playing with anyone and bring out some of there hidden talents.
-
I'm fine with making at least as much kills as getting killed.
-
If you have a low KD (I mean really low) I will not take your opinion seriously. If you can't even grasp the basics to do well then you have no reason to speak about issues.
