I wouldn't really say they were on terms. Let's face it, the DMR outperformed the needle rifle in so many ways, and the lack of headshot capability on the focus rifle, as well as having a giant laser giving away your position, made it way inferior to the UNSC sniper. Plasma pistol will always be good IMO, can't really say anything there. The charge up time to the plasma launcher, as well as not being a one shot to vehicles, made it weaker then the Splaser, but it's ability to quickly take out players as well as having a much larger magazine was very nice. The fuel rod was mostly a weapon for slow moving vehicles or players, as the lack of auto lock as well as arc to the shots made it very difficult to hit anything in the air, or moving at a distance. All in all, the covenant weapons were more situational in my eyes.
