Pick Up The Heavy!

Holy Crap Kinderguardians. When the guy says Heavy Ammo available, go to the Heavy Drop!!! Whether you want to pick it up or let it stay on the ground for later, for God's sake get in proximity. It won't bite you, I promise. So frustrating to patiently stand by the Heavy waiting for team mates to gather only to have them run off in another direction, while me and the one other guy on the team stare at each other like "WTF?" Does this happen to other people? You can feel the enemy team closing in on the heavy and your clueless team mates just ignore it while you stand there literally wondering what is going through people's brains. EDIT: The point of this post is to make people understand that your other 5 team mates are depending on you to do one of two things: Get Heavy, so that your team does not get run over by the other team's Heavy Machine guns and Rockets, or take/disrupt the other Team's Heavy pull. If you are near your team's Heavy drop and you just run away from it, you are doing your team a disservice. EDIT: This post was made before the Ammo Changes in PVP, so you can no longer just get in proximity and leave it for later. SO PICK IT UP! lol

    • Rules of heavy ammo. 1 never leave the ammo spot, ever. Hide near it till it spawns and open it instantly. If you don't grab it fast someone else will. Then go back to hiding around the heavy ammo spawn with your rockets out. When an enemy passes, shooottt! You should have enough heavy to last you to the next heavy drop. If you haven't used all your heavy yet, just shoot the wall with the rockets 10 seconds before the heavy drops and pick it up again.

      • Any smart players will immediately look for the heavy most central to his mates and move for it when it's announced. Really smart players won't sit on top of it but instead stand nearby, guarding approaches. The really ballsy players will skip their teams drop and instead drop a super on the unsuspecting opposition, netting a sweet multikill and, if timed right denying them the goods.

      • Sorry dude I am at the other teams heavy, spending my grenades and supers...either that or I am preventing them to do exactly that on ours...

        • One time, i joined in progress on a 2000-point losing match. I heard the heavy ammo spawn instantly as I got in, and I saw my teammates waiting for me. Then I saw a Warlock jump up in the background, so instead I ran past the heavy and jumped in front of his Nova Bomb. That little sacrifice netted us a comeback and a win.

          • Most Crucible players either: 1. Completely ignore the existence of heavy ammo leaving you to wonder whether to pick it up or not, 2. The only guy at heavy happens to be paranoid. He sees nothing on his radar and still decides someone is probably going to kill him, so he grabs heavy right away, or 3. Stare at the heavy box for the entire 15 seconds after Shaxx announces it regardless of the increasing number of red blips on the radar behind them, leaving the one person paying attention to attempt to shut down the guy that has a super with 5 names on it

            • I give them 5 seconds to make progress to me. If an enemy is really close i take it so they cant have it. If my team doesnt come to me in 5 seconds i take it but they do i wait.

            • The only time I don't go for heavy is when I'm gonna super the whole other team with either nova bomb, fist of havoc, golden gun w/ combustion maybe even reviving with my sunsinger class and purifier robes just to throw nades to kill everyone or bladedancer

            • I hate it when you're hanging close to the heavy, but guarding approaches to watch out for those rogue nova bombs. Heavy about to drop, start sprinting for the spawn point. You're seconds away, in full sight of the drop point. Idiots can't wait that extra second so you all get the ammo, open box when you're just outside of the drop radius. I'd like to think I'm being trolled, but I think they're just stupid.

            • I agree with you, heavy is awesome, but I prefer to deny my opponents heavy instead of picking it up myself. Sure, if I'm near a heavy when it's about to spawn I'll grab it, but otherwise I prefer to try and kill as many enemies as I can before they grab heavy.

            • I know, right? I find myself waiting alone at the heavy box while my teammates run past it as if it isn't there...

            • I usually get a full fireteam in combined arms, and we setup snipers and use the heavy ammo as bait whenever we can, then when we kill all the enemy "Heavy Wielders" we dash for our heavy, open it, then let loose on the enemy. On any other mode though, just run straight for it and open it.

            • I make a beeline straight for the drop closest to the enemies. Unfortunately as a Titan, I rarely get close enough to fist of panic them all, but instead I love chucking 2 lightning grenades on the wall next to it and watching the idiots who think they can snag it and get out before they ride the lightning.

            • Before heavy PVP patch: >Yelling "Kill the guy he has heavy ammo!" >Killed >Gets ammo >more kills >happy guardian After patch: >"Heavy annoying inbound!" >Every single guardian looks up amazed like a gopher coming out of its joke* >Everyone still waiting looking at the timer [13 sec...] >Random people asking... How ya' doing? "Good... Good" "How's the wife and kids?" "Good... Good..." >Still waiting... >Random teammate out alone not getting ammo dies. >[3 sec] >[2 sec] > Random enemy warlock comes out of nowhere... >Nova Bomb >Shit... >Everyone dies >Enemy happy a -blam!- though >The one teammate that is alive getting ammo kills the guy with a rocket >people with machine guns getting kills >People respawn crying their little asses off lol I'm pretty sure this update made it better or worse but it was worth it. Thanks Bungie

              • It's just the heavy ammo drop radius! It's like 15 meters! Way to low

                • I'd rather that than 1 moron picking up the heavy while the rest of the team,is trying to get there...so now the whole enemy team had heavy and we have 1 scrub (they usually are terrible players) with his heavy who usually dies instantly. Or the morons who won't grab grab heavy even when they're getting rushed by the enemy team...contrats, now they have both heavies, gg.
