I got 2/3 pieces needed for my (10hr) Hunter, and have quickly realized that sapphire wire is going to be an issue, upgrade wise.
I've determined that buying it through Roni's armour and dismantling it will cost about 28,000 glimmer. And the upgrades for the armour themselves is around 15,000.
So if anyone has any glimmer saving tips let me know.

If you unlock all the upgrades for armor you get before dismantling it, you'll get more sapphire wire. You don't need to actually buy the upgrades, just unlock them.

1 ReplyRun roc with your higher level toon because their engrams will better than a lower levels put the engrams in the vault for your hunter. When u break them down you'll get two always, sometimes three

Edited by 123: 3/24/2015 5:34:35 PMROC strikes, pickup and dismantle everything. Use the appropriate consumable along the way for glimmer.
-
We should be able to buy these with glimmer.
-
1 ReplyStrikes. preferably ROC but if you aren't high enough of a level do the other ones.
-
There is a much easier way my friend
-
dismantle shit!!!

Run strikes and break down the rewards/decrypted engrams. I've got the same issue with my Titan and Lock. 1800 sapphire wire and scraping for essence and plating

3 RepliesWhy is this still not common knowledge? Run bounties and ROC strikes, equip blue/green armor when turning in bounties to max them out (do not spend glimmer on the upgrades, just put the XP into it) and you will get 4-5 sapphire wire instead of just 1 from one piece of armor

Roc strikes man.

7 RepliesFastest way? Don't play as a hunter. Y Warlock has got so much of that, my god. I keep discarding it but I can't avoid it.

Strikes and strike playlists. Pick up all the engrams you can see. Dismantle them all. Boom. I've never run out of sapphire wire. My hunter is my main though.

2 RepliesFarm glimmer in vog and buy vender greens then dismantle. Should take 30 mins to farm 30k glimmer. Hope this helps.

Play RoC strikes, and kill everything (I know, hard to do when everyone speed runs them). Dismantle all the greens from drops, and any blue you get from engrams.
-
Play roc strikes u get a lot of blue/green armor

8 RepliesHelmets from the vanguard bot in the hanger only cost 250 glimmer.

Loot cave 1.0

I had the same problem. ROC strikes are the way to go. You usually revive 2-3 rare engrams per match
-
Just ROC strikes really is all I can think of. That's what I had to do with my titan and warlock.

Run low-level patrols, kill a bunch of mobs and greens drop pretty regularly. Also, make sure to equip the armor when you turn in bounties to level up the armor before dismantling it, because that gives more Wire.

4 RepliesSame prob on my warlock or I could Hit 29-30 soon

1 ReplyGlimmer farm The Exclusion Zone on Level 18, you will get plenty of green engrams to break down for Sapphire Wire. Just make sure not to kill the last enemy. Let him kill you, and then you can start over right at the spot Dinklebot trips the alarm. Pop some Cabal consumables and in a couple hours you'll make your glimmer and have a bunch of materials.

1 ReplyDo the glimmer farming mission on mars(the first one) on heroic difficulty then activate a supply code for cable, save one guy and let him kill you, DONT KILL ALL GUYS! Then when you get back to the tower buy a bunch of green armor engrams and you dismantle then and there you go. Repeat until you think you had enough:

4 RepliesCan't say I've ever had that issue. Just play strikes. Do bounties. Run the daily missions. Level up your Vanguard or Faction rank. Dismantle everything you aren't going to use. You'll amass a nice stockpile very quickly.
