Alright so I understand that trading cant just happen in destiny because of a few reasons.
--If I buy 10 ice breakers next time xur sells it, I can get almost anything that I want.
--Trade would mean people could turn a profit off of destiny.
With that being said I have some ideas to change that, and make trade a total reality.
1. Make it so you can only trade for 1 item each week, not 1 per character, but 1 per week even if you have 3 characters. I feel like thats reasonable, so even if there was trade it would take just as long to collect everything, but you wouldn't have to grind 1000+ hours for a single gun that you'd like.
2. Each time you trade it takes at least 10000 glimmer from each player as a way to slow down the profit people, as well as put some effort in the trade business
Or
2 1/2. Have rare trade tokens that you get from finishing anything from patrols to raids, just be sure they have about a 1% drop rate at all times, and noth traders have to have a token in order to trade
3. No trading for armor, only weapons, so that you have to earn 32, and not have it given to you by a friend.
4. Trading is only for legendarys and exotics.
5. Anyone caught on either side of a trade for money gets their account banned for life, and every character deleted. Or at least permanently loses their trading privileges.
So with all of that being said, who else feels like trade should at the very least be given a chance? And if anyone has any other ideas to add speak out and you could help add to this list, lets show bungie that the few bad apples shouldn't ruin this for the rest of us.
Edit: Also like DOUGC143 said, if trade is introduced, then when you trade the item it should reset so you have to get those weapon perks back, instead of them carrying over. Great idea, keep em coming!

That's not how we want you to trade. *shows list of rules that try to reduce it's effectiveness* I hope trading never happens in any form.
-
I'll pass. Too many restrictions to make it work. I think trading will break this game.
-
Not a fan. There would have to be set values on items (something else for the community to whinge about) Kids could be bullied or harassed into trading (trust me this little green engram is worth far more than your Gjallahorn kiddo) People with short memories telling Bungie they hadn't swapped or traded and demanding their goods back. Hate mail to those who refuse to trade.

1 ReplyThe only trading should be in the rewards screen after a strike or raid. Imo it would lead to more team work and a less toxic community. Food for thought.
-
2 RepliesIf you could get items by trading, you would end up with fully-equipped guardians complaining that all the stories/strikes/raids were far too easy and they would want more stuff to do. Bungie wouldn't be able to produce new content fast enough, so people would get bored because they have everything. The crucible would just have fully-equipped level 32s running around until they got bored as well. One of the things that sets Destiny apart from CoD or Titanfall is that you have to do all parts to progress (not just a PvP slugfest) and some equipment is hard to get hold of so people will keep coming back to try. Having Xur selling limited exotics once a week helps keep some people happy, but introducing trading or making exotics more easily available would just lessen their worth.

Or...just leave it as it is...its pretty ok...dure i would love this fu&@& Ghorn but i love playing my other exotic so its ok

Edited by BelovedSonofGod: 3/24/2015 7:28:13 AMWhat if you can only trade the exotic engram equivalent of an item? Or maybe even legendary. A gally turns into a legendary heavy engram for example.
-
If destiny had a trade system they would have to lessen the possibility of legendary and exotic drops to keep the market from just flooding with stuff. Also they would have to make any item pre trading non tradable because people are already sitting on piles of exotics. Also any items purchased after from xur would have to be bound to your account so poeple can't just buy stuff from him to trade. I really see no way to implement trading without changing the way we get items in the first place.

I think a clan vault instead and only a certain rank or above can add to the vault
-
Xur has sold every exotic gun except thunderlord that he can and all armor pieces there's no point in trading all exotics are handed to us. If xur wasn't around trading would have made since to be in there at launch.

I don't think trading will come because it could possibly lessen peoples play time. Some people keep playing hoping for that one drop and if they just trade for it they might lose the incentive to continue to play. I also think it would lessen the emotions involved in drops. When I see an exotic I had my eye on finally drop it's exciting! On the same note, when I see an exotic drop that I already have 3 of drop I am disappointed. If you could trade, every exotic drop would be "meh". If it's crap you could just trade for what you want, and if it's what you want then cool! but it didn't really matter because as long as any exotic dropped you could basically turn it into whatever you wanted. Xur sells basically every exotic anyhow so I don't really see the need for trading. Just keep on playing if you enjoy the game and the rewards will come. If you are only playing still to get a certain piece of gear then you might as well stop playing now because one piece of gear will not have that big of an impact on the game. People complain alot about lack of end game content, and if the continual grind of trying to find that certain piece of gear was taken away/just given to them, then there would be even less to do.

1 ReplyOne rule to rule them all; In order to trade, each gun is given a 'trade value'. Let's say a Tier 1 Exotic is 100 TV (NLB, example). God Tier Exotic is 1000 TV (Gjallarhorn). In order to receive said item, you MUST match it with equal or greater TV. So, you want a NLB? Gotta trade a different exotic of tier 1+. This works for every tier. Common is 1 TV, highest exotic is 1000. Tell me what you think.

You must not be familiar with online games and trading. Duplicated items run rampant in trading. So for example you trade item A for item B, in B is duplicated. Now bungie rolls through and corrects the duplicate items. You've not lost both item A and item B. Not only that, you can be banned for having duplicated item B. Imagine the forums after that, lmao, people lose their minds over relatively small things in comparison.

The hell? You don't 'earn' armor or weapons, its RNG. I say make trade value a thing and put it to where you can't trade iron banner gear because that's the only gear you can 'earn'
-
1 ReplyI like that but I think when trading to make it fair all weapons/armor should be reset to stock so you still have to grind to gain light/attack lvls
-
1 ReplyNot bad ideas but I don't ever see trading coming to Destiny.
-
3 RepliesIt seems way too harsh. I've said it Multiple Times, but a Player Market (With Price Fixing [-blam!- you EA]) May work instead.
#RIPFUT
1 ReplyI'd only want trading if it was totally broken D2 style; the only way to trade is to drop stuff on the ground. And only in the Tower, so I could watch. Oh, the lolz...
