My comment on tips on how to play borderlands. Overall its an amazing pair of games. Get used to the UI and menu system, they are very different compared to other games. Start is boring and tedious, but after you get out of the snow parts it really picks up. Weapon rarity colour system is the same, but orange is legendary and the highest is 'Pearlescent' (light blue). Axton is good if you dont want to go head on with enemies. Maya is a support class but built the right way, she can out DPS (damage per second) Salvador. Salvador is easy to play and master and is seen as the best character as he can be flexible when choosing gear. Zer0 is extremely good for burst damage and if specced the right way can be a monster. Is a bit of a glass cannon. Gaige is mediocre. Very good early game. Requires specific gear to unlock her full potential. Krieg can kill without guns, with extreme ease. [b](Dont touch the right hand skill tree until you can have a full tree. It sets you on fire and gives you buffs for being on fire.)[/b] Pay attention to who made the weapons/shields/grenade mods Vladof has high RoF guns, absorbing bullet shields, and AoE grenades Hyperion has guns that, when fired, increase accuracy, damage increasing shields, and grenades that pull your enemies close together. Tediore have basic grenades, high recharge rate shields, and weapons that reload by throwing (not good later on) (thrown weapons are buffed by grenade damage stuff) Tourge has weapons that shoot gyrojets (grenades), thier grenades can be like cluster bombs, and shields have spike and nova effects. (Spike=they melee you and you do damage to them. Nova=shield depleted will emit a damage circle around you ) only explosive element Jakobs has wild western syle guns. High damage high RoF and High recoil. Non elemental weapons only. Maliwan have strong elemental weapons, grenades heal you based on damage dealt and shields are like torgues but elemental. Bandit have crappy things overall. Only thing to note is thier roid shields (when depleted, grants wielder increased melee damage). Badass rank is earned through challanges. Badass tokens are given through ranking up your badass rank. These tokens give a selection of 5 things to choose from. Examples include but not exclusive to: Grenade damage Gun damage Shield capacity Maximum health Fire rate Etc. I hope that is all. Comment any qs. [b]Edit:[/b] Miss moxxi weapons are your friend. Any side quest that gives you an option, go with moxxi. Her weapons heal you based on the damage dealt while these weapons are in your hand. [b][u]Never turn in the first side quest Claptrap gives you in the Tina DLC. NEVER.[/u][/b]

Keep you over 'till HoW? if you haven't played it yet Borderlands 2 (and TPS I guess) will keep you busy until Comet, or even longer, depends how much of a masochist you are when it comes to the endgame

Krieg is so much fun when you get a ways down his Mania and Hellborne trees. But if you haven't played either of the games, dude they're tons of fun. Just go explore everything. Hidden loot EVERYWHERE. I'm not going to buy handsome collection because I burned out on Borderlands after putting like 300 hours into BD1 and almost 200 into 2

You'll be getting (without grinding to the top level/looking for guns and such) a 140+ hour campaign/sidequests between all of the DLC and the two games...for 60 dollars. It is a very sound deal.
