Getting real tired of relic shy people.
[b]Edit:[/b]if you're an experienced relic holder and want to help the beginners learn, and to show them it's not nearly as much pressure as they think, post your system and GT/psn in the comments. Let's make this post a pace to come to for help.
I did vog normal yesterday and when I got to the gatekeeper cp I became painfully aware of how scared everyone else was of using the relic.
I was getting the first one from Mars by myself, pretty much standard procedure, but three times I had to kill the second gatekeeper in Venus using just the relic and then stand in there waiting for someone to come in and pick it up. The one time I had people come in with me, two guys came in and when the relic spawned I sat on top of it waiting for one of them to get it and both of them sat there for literally 5-10 seconds staring at it before we were wiped by the oracle that spawns above the portal.
If you don't have much experience with the relic and you see that not many other people in your team do either. Just pick it up and give it a try, you might be amazed at how simple it is, and personally I think it makes things way easier. Massive melee damage and a super that charges almost immediately that's basically a precision nova bomb.
Edit: if anyone actually wants to practice relic, add me and I'll do my best to help you out. I'm on PS3 and my psn is same as on here. I'll also help anyone who wants to learn sword too.

Read before watching to understand aim. The video was me looking for a safe method at enrage state for our team working hard mode from the deck, not the ledge. It was an experiment so I used warlock and fire born for the benefits. From this a few have learnt the relic and defeated the templar solo. The relic holder can have all the time they need to learn it. Training starts by taking 5 who want to learn in. On the ledge tell them to suicide. Next they switch view to you. You jump down, pick up relic and jump up and left. Now the big rock in front of you, hide behind it until super is charged. Now you can either use the super from behind the rock aimed at the templar (clear line of site needed), or from the centre where the templar was during the previous stages. After the first hit nearly all of the ads move into defense. You stay focused on using the rock as defense and don't go out of your way or take risks with oracles. Now you can take your time and practice solo kill on the templar like this but for now its just about time with relic for new users of it. So they all have a checkpoint and can spend 30mins or more moving and aiming the relic. When enrage happens either jump in the cave or hide behind the rock for a couple of oracle spawns and then just continue. Minotaurs don't hunt you, they stay defensive. Occasionally you kill the nearest Minotaur depends on templar location at enrage.

People just need to pick it up and play with it. Normal attack, heavy attack and shield. Three buttons people. Its fun once you get the hang of it.

Ran relic toe nights ago with 3 people, made it through enrage for like 10 minutes, pretty proud

I run relic cause it's not as much pressure im not very good at oracles and relic is just easy for me.

I don't care because im always the one holding relic/sword. It doesn't matter is people are shy or not. I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

I stopped running relic at some point. I use golden gun on the adds in the portal. If the relic holder fails after that it is on him. I have a bigger issue with people taking too long on oracles, so I focus on that. Sucks cause I enjoyed using the relic.

3 RepliesXb1 here. Relic using is a serious adrenaline rush. That moment when you drop the templars shield or Meteor Smashing 6 Cyclops in desperation for a save to sword comboin Crota to Oblivion always gets me goin. Id be willin to teach both to anyone who is willing to follow directions.

1 ReplyI avoid the relic like the plague for one reason: I suck at running relic. Every time I run relic, I either die to the minotaur or we wipe completely. This is [i]not [/i]the case when I just use guns. I take out praetorians in 2-4 seconds, and I rarely die to enemy fire unless a supplicant manages to sneak up while I'm ADS. I avoid the relic out of courtesy to my party.

I decided to start messing with it this past weekend for that reason. I'm fairly confident in my ability to use it now, except at the Templar. I tried that and sucked ass haha, but I will give it another go.

If your getting tired you should rest. Then maybe you will let people play the game they want to play it.

I don't use the relic because I don't want to be the one that the team blames on for wipes. I can use the relic, but the fear of pissing everyone off if I fail kind of makes me not want to.

Replying so I can add later on. I do find that a lot of raids fall apart when it comes to relics/swords and it's the main reason I don't raid that often...

I like being needed for the raids...makes sure I always have a team to run with cause they need me. I always go to the left/Mars side by myself

The problem is people complain if you do it first time so if you've no experience you sure as hell ain't gonna volunteer to try just to get berated by folk. I'd love to learn to use relic and run sword and have said that in games a number of times but if there's someone who knows what to donut in not gonna hold everyone else back just to learn. I've had a brief go at both and neither seem that tough but it's never a welcoming environment to try for the first time.

I get tired of players who just want free loot, they always want the easiest roles, never volunteer for Gates in VOG, to use relic or even try sword, when you say who's on boomer duty in CE you hear 5 people say "I'll do it!"
