Hey, y'all.
So, I picked up Against All Odds a couple of days ago, 'cause I wasn't sure if I get all the way to Level 5 on Iron Banner. Well, as I'm typing this, with sore hands...I did indeed reach Level 5. So, if I want to get J-Hammer, I can spend Monday Glimmer farming to get it.
But, seeing as the stats are comparable, should I still go ahead and get J-Hammer? I have about 24 MoLs, so I can reforge 12 times (hopefully won't need to go that far).
EDIT: I ended up picking up J-Hammer, used 3 Reforges on it. Thanks for the advice!

Edited by TheKungLao: 3/24/2015 11:38:16 PMI feel I hit the jackpot with my twelfth reroll on my Jolders Hammer. Its arc damage with range finder, field scout and crowd control. Its my favorite now.

10 RepliesAgainst All Odds is the second-best heavy machine gun in the game, behind Thunderlord.

Edited by TRDoug: 3/25/2015 8:44:28 PMOh dude........the hammer was available for purchase at rank 4.......all I wanted was the chests and a couple hammers, stopped at four and hit it with all three of my guardians. Man I farmed glimmer on monday like a fiend!!!!!! Lol!!! Been saving motes of of light for weeks haha!!! Nice pickup though!! I had an old void one with field scout, bought two more and reforged until I got an arc with field scout and a solar, wanted to reforge more but didn't want to loose the third element so I'm happy with my solar one with skip rounds instead of field scout!

I wonder what the results would look like before the Iron Banner. People won't vote against a weapon they just worked hard for. Against All Odds is the better weapon, hands down. And yes, I took two characters to level 4. Chose not to buy JH.

3 RepliesJolder's hammer with field scout........ case closed. I got a void one as a random drop at the end of a match in the first iron banner. It hits like a Mack truck and only has 300 attack, it's a monster, a very big very mean monster!!! Plus it looks A LOT WAY MORE BETTER!!!!! HAHA I'll be farming glimmer tonight so I can buy two more and reroll one of them until I get an arc with field scout or I run out of motes, which ever comes first!! Haha!!

I was fortunate to get the against all odds with persistence/field scout/crowd control. However if rng does not favor you, the Jolder's hammer can be reforged as many times as you can afford to get that 'perfect roll.' I managed to get a void hammer with crowd control/field scout/ rodeo, and I prefer it over the 'Odds'

1 ReplyJOLDERS. With a good reforge itll slap on the other. Only need lev 4 to buy it.

1 ReplyEdited by championkiller: 3/24/2015 2:44:08 PMJH is better than AAO, but if u don't have JH the Deviant Grav is better than AAO. Perfect roll for JH is aggressive ballistics, rodeo, perfect balance and crowd control, no need for field scout for PVP. The gun has quite a bit of up and down kick which perfect balance takes care of, persistence is a stupid perk for a LMG...who fires more than 3-4 bullets at a time?? Crowd control with aggressive ballistics make JH a two hit headshot kill every time!

Edited by Axis_Stroopie: 3/24/2015 2:11:49 PMThey are pretty evenly matched

Against All Odds has a higher range, but much lower stability, which can be a problem. Still, the one sold by the Crucible vendor has Persistence and the ever-important Field Scout, so if you've got the marks go ahead and buy it. I bought mine after the last Iron Banner and it served me well through this one. However, you can re-roll Jolder's Hammer to get the perfect abilities and mods. Aggressive Ballistics, Rodeo, Counter Balance, Crowd Control, and Feeding Frenzy are all the sorts of things you might miss on your AAO, but if you've got enough motes of light, you can craft yourself a very deadly machine gun indeed.

6 RepliesI love Jolders in PvP… but omg is it awful in PvE. I mean, a 26 round mag with 86 spare rounds while being able to carry more heavy? That's just pathetic, especially when my old Zombie Apocalypse kills as fast, has a 75 round mag with 150 reserve.

I like jolders hammer. If anything, this machine gun should be what every machine gun is based on. It hits like a train. It smashes and you die. Die. Die. Die. It's always been my favourite machine gun. I have 3 now.
-
They're the same gun stat wise. You'll see more hammers because they can be rolled to perfection.
-
Personally I prefer the hammer

Swarm.

Jolders can be great if you get good rolls. I got crowd control counter balance and field scout on my first roll.

Jolder's hammer looks bawce

1 ReplyIf you only play Crucible....it really doesn't matter. Against All Odds is so powerful it will consistently win gunfights with other HMGs. I'd only suggest you get Jolder's Hammer if you're looking to roll Field Scout and increase the ammo capacity....which is AOAs only real weakness. If you play alot of PvE...then get Jolder's hammer and just make sure its a different elemental damage than your Againts All Odds.

4 RepliesMy Against All Odds has field scout so it holds 50 rounds :| . Unless you're lucky enough to find 1 like that get the hammer why not both(they cost 2 different currencies)

Get the Hammer because you can reroll
