Thought: Medallion of Iron actually encourage game quitting

I understand what Bungie was trying to do with the Medallion of Iron, and that is give some sort of incentive for people to stay in losing games. Except it doesn't. Not when where is a limit to how may can be held in a stack. Instead, I think the Medallions actually encourage players to start dropping losing games if they get too many in a stack. It's much more time efficient to bail on three games two minutes in if your team is not winning then to play multiple losing games out to their conclusions when sitting on a medallion stack. The solution would be to either have virtually unlimited stacks which all get turned in (though I could see some potentials for exploits there) or simply do what is already being done in the Crucible and award a reduced reputation reward for simply competing.

  • This issue does need addressing, but the Iron Banner is not for the faint of heart guardian. Lord Saladface needs those wins bro. Tell your team to cap two points and dont rush the third. Sit back and defend it to win it.
