It was more of an honor to be lvl 30 than 32.

Let me get this off my chest. Back in the day it was much harder to hit lvl 30 than it is to hit lvl 32 today. The VoG was a major challenge at first. The Gear seemed to drop far less. Today, every Guardian can simply be pulled to lvl 32. When Normal Crota was first released, there was a Cheese for EVERY point in the Raid. Before DLC it was an honor to be lvl 30. Today there is far too many lvl 32's who didn't earn a damn piece of gear. I'm not one bit proud to be a 32 due to this issue. If you cheesed the Raid to become 32 then shame on you. You didn't earn a thing. For the Kindergaurdians, back when VoG is all we had we earned our 30's and we were the few and the PROUD. We had to drop Atheon on Hard just to get the Helm. We were a proud few. THE FEW, THE PROUD, THE PRE-DLC 30'S Edit 1: The people who either cheese all raids or never ran VoG, seem to feel disrespected. Awwwwww don't be mad.

  • I remember being one of the first level 30's. I was 30 like a month after the game came out. It was amazing

  • You realize that's why bungie made the drop more common right? To avoid only having a few level 32 players. They want everyone to do it

  • Hitting level 30 meant nothing. Having all the raid weapons + Mythoclast was where true honor laid

      • VoG drop rates where pretty ridiculous. I was a 29 for forever. I did VoG over and over and got no armor. Plus being a 29 was basically looked at as having a black mark on your name. I was in countless raids where level thirties had no clue what to do and were dying left and right whilst I the lowly 29 tried my best to pick up their slack. Point being that people were carried through the raid then as well. I have a friend who did the raid twice. Once on normal and once on hard and had literally every drop that raid had to offer besides the timepiece. Being an elitist over your luck in a raid is pretty dumb. I do agree 30 was far more difficult to obtain. But it doesn't matter to me that many people are level 32. Most cheeses are gone from the raid now so doing it legit isn't much of an issue. Do you not remember all the people that pushed Atheon off on hardmode and got vex. Not me by the way I just got vex about a month ago along with the armor I needed that would have made me a 30 (meanwhile I was already a 32). I wish everyone was a 32. More the merrier what do I care what level anyone else is.

        • It took me until the week before TDB came out to get one level 30. A month later I got three 32's.

        • I agree but I was also a forever 29. The problem is RNG based bs. No one "earns" anything. They just play and roll the dice and get what you get. It didn't matter (and still doesn't) how WELL you played.

        • When I first hit 30 I was super excited and happy that I could be "elite" and be admired by people still trying to hit 30. When I hit 32 I was like "meh"

        • Lol. I was one of those pre DLC 30s. I got to 30 3 days before the DLC dropped. I raged pretty hard when I saw 31 gear at the vendor.

        • I don't feel bad for cheesing (unless its the crota push cheese or host leave because that's network manipulation) Maybe bungie should do a better job at designing raids.

        • Do you realize that you are using the words "honor" and "the few and the proud"!!! Good men and women in the military have served and died for your country and you throw away these words on a video game. Get good scrub. That is all.

          • Yeah, being 30 meant you actually grinded out VoG for months to get all the gear, definitely not the same with the Crota raid, i'm really hoping that's part of the reason they pushed back HoW release, so they could do some proper testing of the new raid and stop all the cheeses. 32 doesn't mean shit these days.

          • here we go, more "earning" talk. I ran VOG something like 30 times and STILL dont have the chest for my titan where my buddy got the full set (minus the helm) in 1 run. NOTHING in this game is "earned", its all RNG! PRAISE BE TO RNGesus!

            • Drop rates WERE less in vog. I beat it like 6 or 7 times without getting gear at first. You can get like two full sets of gear in Crota in 6 or 7 runs, plus lots of shards to upgrade. They [bungie] did increase drop rates because people were complaining. So now that we have it easier (I couldn't care less how hard it is) let us NOT COMPLAIN. If we [the community] complain it's too hard, then comment that it's now too easy and we don't respect most 32's, then bungie is in a lose/lose scenario. The new raid is fun. But you are right, it's way too easy to cheese. And way too hard to find people who want to do it legit. That shouldn't be the way the HoW should be. I'm expecting it will be hard. I'm expecting people are gonna go back to complaining how hard things are again. Just like the forums blew up for the first few weeks of TDB.

            • I agree with some of your sentiments. I think the way you came off might be offensive to some people though. Anyways, reaching 30 was an accomplishment I could be proud of. It took running VoG on normal to get the first few pieces, then running it on hard to get the Helm. You essentially couldn't run hard without first running normal because vendor gear wasn't sufficient. The raid itself was more satisfying, but that's for a different topic. Now everyone can hit 31 with vendor gear alone, allowing them to immediately run hard mode crota. You can even hit 32 with normal crota alone. You don't even need hard mode! Hitting 32 doesn't feel like an accomplishment anymore. I am glad that they increased the drop rates overall. But the sense of accomplishment was decreased. The requirements to hit 32 were just time, since vendor gear enables you to run normal crota, and hit 32 from that. The Crota raid itself was more disappointing, and didn't require as much teamwork. You can get carried much more through the raid. The entire journey was cheapened.

            • I remember those good ol days. Lvl 30s were looked up to. Today, any sqeaker with a bit of Time can be 32. Only time I ever cheated VOG was when you could push the Templar off. But that was after I had reached lvl 30
