Is there an easy and quick way to get sapphire wire?

I have 3 characters my warlock being my main and with my hunter I have always struggled with not having enough sapphire wire. I need it now more than ever to become 32 and I was just wondering is there a way to get sapphire wire.( I know you get it from dismantling gear)

  • I say if you are a glimmer farmer buy from vanguard person with the helium and iron ore there is a helmet for 250 gives 1 to 2 pieces each

  • ROC strikes and get every engram, also the green ones! If you don't dismantle while playing leave the blue ones and just get as many green as possible;

  • Roc strikes *on your Hunter*, decrypt and dismantle all your blue engrams. The reason you do it on the Hunter is you get random pre-decrypted armor pieces for whatever class you're playing, in addition to engrams.

  • Farm Roc with your best character, open engrams with your hunter. Then, take all the decent blues (those with 18-20 light) and level them (get the xp only, dont spend anything) on roc with your hunter. If you have any bounty done, put the xp on a blue glove (they seemed to give the most wire for me) and dismantle.

  • Ran into a similar problem. My hunter was my third character after my titan and my warlock. Long story short, I had a full set of gear for my hunter by the time he hit 20. So I went from 20 to 27 basically in seconds. Downside was I didn't have a lot of mats. Roc strikes help, and when ever you are on another character send all your engrams to your hunter.

    • I do rocs for mats, also patrolling and playing the daily drop engrams, but rocs drop blues so you're getting 2 maybe 3 mats per blue(if it's armor).

      • If you've got a lot of glimglam to waste then sometimes I buy a load of the cheapest green gear from the vanguard vendor and dismantle. If usually to a maximum of about 25 sapphire wires

        • If i'm going to grind, I grind Patrols. Earn rep, glimmer, blue & green drops, marks, XP, bounties all at once, without the pressure of team mates or a "goal". It's great background activity while I am chatting with my mates online.

        • What everyone is (seemingly) forgetting to mention is that you should dismantle the green and blue armor AFTER you unlock the upgrades. You basically double the mats PER piece dismantled. I'll do my 10 bounties and keep switching the armor as I turn them in. Make sure you have the nightfall buff before doing the above. I can usually get 50 materials in a day easy.

          • Engram transfer does NOT work. Don't listen to these clowns. Just grind the roc strikes with the hunter and you'll have a bunch in no time.

            • Kill hive in the dark beyond on the moon. You will get tons of blue and green engrams and at the same time you can work on grimoire score and bounties

            • I'm not exactly your biggest farmer, but I don't mind running a few 26 strikes since I rarely do them ouside the nightfall, and sometimes the weekly... They give you an engram as a reward, and you'll likely pick a hanfull more greens and blues along the way. Use your glimmer buffs too, and when you accumulate a substantial amount, you can buy gear from the crytarch. Not as boring as other strats, and pretty efficient.

            • I think if you go to the hunter vanguard while using your warlock and buy gear, you can get the wire. Keep buying the uncommon stuff and dismantle it. Then put it in your vault

            • Roc strikes. Lots of blues to dismantle. Also, if you level up a green (by equipping it when you turn in a bounty) you'll get 3 materials from it instead of just one.

              Exclusion Zone glimmer farm or VoG Gatekeeper glimmer farm until you max out. Purchase green helmets from Vanguard Armory (near Dead Orbit) and dismantle. This is the best method I've come up with since playing Beta; RoC strikes don't guarantee armor engrams, which is why I don't recommend it. Example: 1 helmet is 250 glimmer and breaks down into a single wire. At max limit you can carry 25,000 glimmer, which can be made per hr approximately using the farming methods suggested. So adjusting for load times and such, you could buy 100 wire in about 90 mins or so.

            • When I had that problem, I would farm glimmer from the exclusion zone. Then I would go to the Hunter Vanguard mentor and buy rare (blue) armor. Then dismantle
