Felwinter's Lie broken?
So, I'm complaining, and still I feel like this should be discussed. I've never seen any other shotgun in crucible (even other with shot package, etc) with that sort of range and 1-shot killing power from unacceptable ranges. Thoughts/votes?
Edited. Just for those who would be happier seeing me admit that.
Edit 2: When I signed on yesterday to play IB, my first two deaths were to Felwinter's Lie. Irony. Lol

A fusion of a scout rifle/shotgun maybe call it a Scout-gun or considering the instant kill it manages to somehow accomplish from the distance of an NBA three point shot, a Snipe-gun. I'm sure others can think of much more clever "fusions" of names. *I understand the extreme low rate of fire the gun has is supposed to balance it out, but the gun out shoots and kills any other shotgun before the other shotgun at the same distance manages to drop a guardians shield. Once the player has figured out the Hail Mary of a shot they can land and kill, it gives that guardian a ridiculous advantage. I do have this shotgun. I know it's a beast, I have been erased with it several times. I landed what I think to be the most efficient roll for PVP as well. I'm not complaining but I kind of seem like it maybe I don't know. I haven't yet really used and abused this shotgun as much as I have liked to, I have become comfortable with my setup now and like that I manage to drop consistently solid scores and kills with a not so typical crucible load out. Destiny has managed to make everyone run and gun the same clone loadout, not saying I didn't start using a pulse rifle a bit more after the buff but that's how it worked out. I guess I'm ok with all this silly range as long as I'm using it! ;-) sure you can agree, but yea I hate getting one shot from the distance a catcher throws a ball across the field to second base. Oh that guy is no where near me and oh now I'm dead! Instantly know what killed me without even reading it.

1 ReplyDon't get close to people anymore. If you say that's not possible, which in a lot of cases is true, it's because there's an issue with the maps, not the weapons themselves. They're all designed so shotguns will destroy you. Start asking bungie to fix the maps, not the weapons. Until then I will continue to use my felwinters because it's a logically sound decision based on how many of my encounters are close quarters.

No. Hi dmg low rate of fire shotgun highly reliant on individual roll using a finite resource. Balanced.

It's not op. If you miss one shot ur normally dead. I still get beaten by other shotties, and this is coming from a guy who hated felwinters before i got it. It takes skill to get into range and can easily be beaten.

Not broken, just the fact that you can re roll it is a bit pushy. I rolled mine and got Luck in the chamber Hammer forged Shot package 0 skill required to get kills. Honestly haha.

I have never killed someone with my Felwinters Lie from 25ft away! I find people that get shot from 5 foot away still manage to live shocking! You shoot someone from minimum range with a Shotty and they should be dead! No questions!

IRL Shotguns kill from well over 100 ft. Ever been duck hunting or seen buck shot? Shotgun slugs will leave a 6 inch hole in your chest.

U ppl who cry for nerfs ruin pve. Shotguns are decent in pve now it's amazing but more pvp ppl will complain and shotguns will be unusable just like the auto rifles. I use to love having fun with suros in tiger strikes but the nerfs made it impossible to kill tier 2 enemies the whole strike with out running out of ammo

Actual range is 10-15 feet. No need to exaggerate. Just because you suck at countering it doesn't mean its op, it just means you suck at countering it. Im not good at countering blade dancers. Doesn't mean its op, just means i suck at countering it.

Either the range or damage need a slight nerf. However if you do reduce either you HAVE TO buff the fire rate. Otherwise it might just end up as a copy and paste version of the found verdict.

Bungie really spoiled you ppl. Don't worry Bungie do listen and they'll nerf it along with Red Death and Thorn. I hate nerfs in general but the truth is they are listening.

Op for one enemy maybe. I have fell winter,s lie and i choose to use vanguard secret handshake instead. You can clear out a room with it.
