The Arbiter "Were it so easy..."
What does The Arbiter mean when he says, "Were it so easy..."? If you want to know, then stick around and help me find out! :D
The Arbiter says "Were it so easy..." in two different parts of Halo 3.
One on the beginning Arrival cut-scene,
Sergeant Johnson says, after Master Chief puts a gun to The Arbiter's chin, "We have enough to worry about without you two trying to kill each other!" Then The Arbiter says, "Were it so easy..."
Then he says it again after the credits on any mode,
Lord Hood says, "Its hard to believe that he's dead."
The Arbiter replies, "Were it so easy..."
If you would like to know what he means by this, then keep this going until a Bungie employee replies to this and tells us!!!

He already tried to kill the chief. In the novel "Halo: First Strike," he gives the chief a run for his money as the Chief and a small squad of marines attempt to take over his ship. The Chief shoves him in an escape pod and blows him off the ship.

The first and last sentences that Arby says in Halo 3 are "Were it so easy"

He's saying that he would have already killed the MC if it were that easy. He was leading the armada in Halo 1, and he did everything in his power to kill him, not to mention the flood and the enormous explosion that ripped apart the ring. Essentially, he's saying it's going to take a lot more than what happened to kill him, judging by prior experience.

It means the arbiter and master chief can't kill eachother easily..and master chief can't be killed easily

Arrival: (No respect for MC) Means that it wouldn't be as easy for MC to kill Arbiter as Johnson made it sound. Ending Cutscene: (Has deep respect for MC) Means that it is indeed hard to believe that MC is dead.

Agreed. But these cryptic words we're, possibly but unlikely just thought up at the last minute to add some sort of... Starltment at the end of the game. So the kids say, "Hey, he said that alrady! Lawl!" [Edited on 08.28.2008 4:06 PM PDT]

He is saying it would be more difficult than one magnum shot to kill him, and more than a Halo ring exploding to kill the Chief, he has gotten out of worse.

The Arbiter dosent know MC is still alive because the ship was split in -blam!- half. Also, the arbiter saying, "Worried so easily" Does make alot of since. But since Wikipedia points otherwise, I'll be going with the Wiki-Drones' statement. Sorry.
