Here are the cold hard facts, shotguns take very little skill to use and are now beginning to outweigh even the best exotics on the game on most maps. People are overusing them and using their overpowered up close combat advantage to almost completely overrun the use of skilled weapons such as snipers, scout rifles, and pulse rifles (you know things that require head shots and the actual use of aiming). In a game with already major issues in pvp with unbalanced and overpowered abilities such as supers, shoulder charges, a jump where you literally just disappear, and horribly unskilled blade dancer supers (mash right bumper who hoo), do we really need shotguns to also be such a powerful weapon to the point where almost everyone is now using them ?! Perhaps if there were more maps with an open playing style to help take away this shotgun whoring advantage, skilled players using skilled weapons could actually be able to showcase their skill set to stop these shotgun users long before the distance is closed, but there are not ! Most maps are defined by tight corners, up close combat, very few sniping vantage points, and ways for shotgun users to flank you within a seconds notice, and once they are on you with a decent shotgun good luck trying to stop them without the use of a super! Please bungie help bring balance back into the pvp much like the halo days, where kids attempting this with shotguns would easily be outplayed by skilled players using battle rifles, snipers, dmr's etc. , stop allowing such an unskilled weapon dictate how 80 % of the maps and games are now played, are there not enough up close advantages already ? (Supers, shoulder charges, overpowered grenades of some classes) ? Shotguns are ruining the game style of skilled players who actually use headshots and space to control the success of their matches to the point where they are being forced to carry a shotgun also in fear of the entire other team running around with them which seems to happen more and more each day...save us from the shotgun madness bungie, before more and more people seeking balance while using actual skilled weapons get tired of this... I'll leave you with this, shotgun whores should not be able to control the style of play on each map, they should not be constantly rewarded for such an unskilled weapon which seems to constantly be outplaying skilled weapons now more and more in mid and close ranged engagements, please bring the power back to the skilled weapons, the headshots, and the effectiveness of keeping enemies at a distance !!!! PVP doesn't need any more up close power advantages, our game is being ruined by unskilled basement trolls running around sliding with overpowered, overused shotguns !!! Skill should shine in the form of headshots and accuracy, not who can run up and slide and hurry up and slam down the trigger button faster regardless of where they are aiming on the body ! Make it stop BUNGIE !! (How about some bigger sized maps, with less who comes around which corner first type of play, and allowing shotguns to be used as they should be at extremely close range, enough of these mid range effects we are now seeing. Perhaps even less special ammo could end up being part of the solution on these smaller maps)
