Has anyone at Bungie ever fired a Pistol?
Anything farther than 50 yards your not going to be able to hit a moving target 3 or 4 shots in a row, your not going to be able to out gun a scout rifle or sniper rifle from all the way across the map with your Hawkmoon.
Hand Cannons have gotten dumb, fix the range......
So worried about auto rifles and shot guns, meanwhile this junk is silly.

oh yes, it's sci-fi fantasy. Therefor several people seem to think that it is a good idea that range is absolutely irrelevant, and weapons designed to shoot across the map like scout and sniper rifles, should just be tossed in the trash as we all adopt the Hawkmoon or Thorn for essentially every battle tactic? Because no one at Bungie has ever caught on fire and done a Scorch Melee, lets just abandon any premis of weapon believability.

3 RepliesYeah well that wouldn't make a fun game. Battlefield might be the closest major game to realistic, and it's easily second to Call of Duty. Why? Cause it's simply not as fun to waste all time doing realistic stuff. Personally, I'm not a huge battlefield fan, too much not fighting, too much running around just not as much combat. Many disagree. The more realistic, the less enjoyable

6 Repliesthen why do people put scopes on .44's and other handguns like it? surely it can't be because it can accurately shoot farther than 50 yards. OP clearly hasn't shot more than an air soft gun.

They aren't pistols, they are hand cannons. Also, our guardians aren't the average poor shot. Mix elite shooters with buffed equipment and there you have it.

I know I am struggling with the realization, I have spent days drowning my sorrows with pizza and Mountain Dew. I have contacted Bungie (if thatvis their real name) regarding this intentional misrepresentation and expect my lucrative check of $69.99 , for the cost of the game, shortly... which will continue my double pep and mush fueled depression engine. #Satire

These are not pistols ... They are hand [i]cannons[/i]. I would gamble they are not you run of the mill, 50 yard, can't put lead on moving targets, pistols. Also a video game that is no way based on real world physics.

If they wanted to be more realistic about it, they'd start blurring things out further than 25 yards away, but in reality this is a fantasy shooter where you have revolvers with 13 round mags.....

1 ReplyI hear you on this. Most game companies do so little research on weapon capabilities that it's laughable. Anybody else remember how the Halo 1 pistol was the best weapon in the game? Pistols are close range, last resort weapons for when your primary runs out. Or, you're a Wild West sheriff having a showdown with outlaws at little more than 50-100 yards away. They are not precision weapons for an active combat zone. Then again, we are playing a video game set in a fictional future hundreds of years from now so....space magic and have fun! :-)
