Why not both?
Fatebringer kills a fully shielded nightfall shank in two shots with arcburn on.
Fang of ir yut takes five shots to do the same.
As far as I know hive disruptor is kinetic damage. If anyone has proof otherwise feel free to share. So while it is extra damage on occasion it probably isn't enough to completely shut out the Fatebringer.
Both are good weapons for arcburn, though.

Pretty sure fatebringer doesn't have the range, stability, or mag size the Fang does though.
-
At range is where the fang pulls ahead. But in omnigul that is one encounter out of four. As for mag size, that is pretty irrelevant for both weapons. As long as you can score head shots with the Fatebringer the reload time is pretty quick. Fang can have a 27 shot mag but I prefer high caliber rounds, and with the increased reload speed when the mag is empty that also is pretty quick.
-
I don't deny fatebringer is good, I'm just saying that, the Fang is probably gunna serve better in most situations these days. Not just Omnigul
-
I like the fang a lot, and I use it for many things. But for arcburn strikes Fatebringer is still a viable weapon. For this strike specifically, I'd probably use the Fatebringer more often, because of the close quarters nature of most of the encounters. Last week I didn't use my Fatebringer at all. I'm just trying to give objective information about both weapons.

Fang five shotting a shank on arc burn? You know fang does more damage than fatebringer so thats not really plausible
-
fb does more damage than fang even without hive disrupter
-
Well I mean. Hand cannon 1 hit vs a scout Rifle. Cannon gonna hit harder. Idk about 5 hits for the fang. But the hand cannon will kill it faster for sure
-
On arc burn fang two shots dregs and shanks and straight up does more damage. The only viable reason to use Fatebringer is for firefly.
-
2 shots a shank with solar shield?. I highly doubt that. I just used the fang this week. No way was it 2 shots per. Dregs ain't anything 1 shot with my auto rile lol
-
Fang 5 shots to kill shank? Maybe upgrade it first

Thinking the same thing man

Edited by Ferth: 3/17/2015 4:03:39 PMIt's either four or five. Epic difficulty shielded mobs are highly resistant to every element but the one they are weak to. And fang of ir yut does not hit harder than Fatebringer. That information is straight up false. On red mobs that aren't a higher level than you Fatebringer hits for ~500 uncapped body shots. That turns into ~1500 with arcburn, ~4500 in an arcburn with a precision strike. Fang of ir yut hits 340 uncapped body shots. ~1000 with arcburn. ~3000 with arcburn and a precision strike. The actual values for fang of ir yut are slightly higher, but certainly not enough to make it do more than Fatebringer. Even if you add the hive disruptor to that it's only another ~400 damage on a shot where it procs.
