Hey any tips on how to solo The Abyss on Hard Mode as a level 31 Titan? I want the oversoul edict as no one wanted to do Hard VoG on ps3 with me.
I dont have Most exotics
I have both subclasses maxed
I can get up to building the bridge at least on Normal mode with others (using them as bait (im a horrible person))
I have Helm of Saint-14
I want tips but I wont be going on for a long time.
Unless you are on ps3 and have a team and will do Hard VoG with me for dat Fatebringer.
Im online Like RIGHT NOW (not anymore, will update whenever) about to attempt it. Will post when I give up
Add i_am_da13est if you wanna join.
Attempts1 through 5: cant get past the hallowed cursed thralls
Edit: I got to the brigde, the ogre destroys a lvl 31 bubble.
Edit 2: you guys can stop now with the second rock cheese, any other tips?
For your information.
With max armour and agility,
Thralls are a 3 hit kill
Cursed Thrall kill you anyway, no matter what distance
Critical hits on the ogre with a fully levelled Ice Breaker are 1908 damage (on an on level acolyte, a 331 Timurs lash crits at 1980)
If you are hit at all, youre fudged.
Edit 3: all those comments and only one piece of negetivity!!! Thanks for helping and sending tips! Post tips for other classes aswell!!
Edit 4: joined a random who was doing it and Im close to perfecting the run. Still havent completed it yet.

It's super easy as a titan. The hardest part will be dodging the thrall and getting on the rock next to the 2nd lamp. Set your brightness up on the game and tv until everything is perfectly lit. Use your defender class. Max out your agility (having a primary gun with +2 agility helps but is not necessary) Use your second jump (one with an arrow) Dodge thrall until you get to the 2nd lamp jump on the rock on the right hand side of the lamp (go behind the rock to easily jump up on top) Wait for your darkness to go away Step to the edge of the rock facing the big wall. Look straight ahead (not slightly left or right) Double jump up on top (you should make it 9/10 times) Ok now your up on top. Wait for your super to charge Change your subclass to support armour and recovery and your strongest bubble. Now go left along the edge of the wall, there will be no adds/enemies except for a knight but we'll get there. The wall will curve right, follow that it's like a little path. You'll see a lamp and there will be a knight by it. Crouch along the edge of the rock right by the lamp just out of sight from the knight, until your darkness is gone. Now sprint past the knight up the hill to the left towards the lamp on top of the hill side stepping the pits leading up the hill. Once you're past the lamp on top of the hill go towards the lamp to the right (there will be a little path to take) Activate the lamp and then go step on the plate and run back to the lamp and up on top of the rock to the left of the lamp. Position yourself to the far left side of the lamp so the explosion doest kill you. Then center yourself on the rock. Shortly after the lamp explodes the ogre will appear right behind the lamp in the distance. Ignore him. Do not shot! He will move to your left (his right) around a small rock then a big rock. It'll take about 15-20 seconds. As soon as he comes around that big rock right in front of you he will immediately start to shoot you so as soon as you see him pop around, pop your bubble. Now your bubble will last another 15-25 seconds. Immediately as soon as your bubble is gone step down off the rock towards the bridge. (The bridge will not be built just yet but the rock will shield the ogres blast from getting you.) Head towards the bridge before the thrall organize and come towards you. Once u get to the edge(maybe a little before if all goes well) of the plate the bridge will be fully formed and viola! Follow these steps and I guarantee you success. Another way is to equip a patience and time that has camo perk on, and RIGHT BEFORE the ogre comes around the big rock, aim don't shoot, keep aiming and you'll go invisible for a few seconds and as soon as it's gone pop your bubble and it will build while you're still in your bubble. Keep in mind it takes 2-3 seconds before you turn invisible while aiming so you have to be invisible before the ogre comes out from behind the big rock or else he'll burn you down quick and you'll have to just use the first technique I stated. Like I said this is all guaranteed! ! Hardest part is getting to the 2nd lamp on top of thr rock. But you'll get it. Good luck!

Keep moving.

I'm in the same boat I'll add you tomorrow as I'm a 31 warlock

Learn how to make the jump up to the ledge, jump on the pillar at the end by the bridge, stun/kill(if you can) the ogre, use your bubble. Then -blam!-ing run

If my ps3 guardian was high enough, I'd help. Sorry man

I've soloed the abyss many times on my titan.. On hard, and at 31-32. I'm surprised no one has told you this simple strategy. Run whatever perks that make the bubble last longer, along with making your punch last longer. ARMOR of light. Also have Saint-14 equipped. When you get to the bridge, activate the lamp and wait for it to blow up. Activate the bridge and dodge the thrall for as long as you possibly can. (but don't kill them.) Pop your bubble. Go to town punch city style. More times then not, you will have killed enough enemies that you'll have a second bubble ready to pop before your first one disappears. easy..

Advice: be a hunter

2 RepliesDont even try lol
-
3 RepliesMax agility and maxed Mida Multi tool with agility perk and you'll be faster then anybody else doesn't matter which class, easy run through the lamps. Ogres a different story hunter invisibility and Titan bubble with saint-14 will help.
-
1 ReplyCan't help right now, but I've been doing the lamps solo for a few weeks to get shards. Also on ps3. Tag is same as here.

3 RepliesEdited by RealSKIN: 3/17/2015 6:32:30 PMFists of havoc, icebreaker. When you get to the end and jump on the rock and gjallarhorn the ogre Edit: didn't see u didnt have most exotics till now.

5 RepliesMax your striker agility, at 2nd lamp jump on rocks just past it and to left, get weight off, jump to top of wall, shoulder charge in air if necessary to make it, switch to defender, wait for bubble to charge, go to end start bridge, get on small rock next to last lamp, get weight off, jump to higher rock by bridge, kill first ogre with gjallarhorn, jump down from rock and pop saint 14 bubble right at start of bridge, wait until bridge constructs, run across
-
2 RepliesJust stick to normal till you are 32
-
1 ReplyIf you have patience and time you can get a 6-7 seconds of invisibility on the rock, pop you bubble and wait for it to get destroyed and again use pnt to go invis. Bridge should form by then. Or hide behind the rock next to the bridge and pop a saint 14 bubble. Keep meleeing thralls to get your next super ready. It should keep you safe from ogre blasts.

2 RepliesEven as a 32 Titan it's difficult. If you have trouble getting to the end look around at each lamp there are rocks you can get on at most of them. At the end start the bridge then go to the closest lamp to the bridge plate. To the left of it there's a rock you can get on even with weight of darkness. Before the lamp blows jump to the bigger rock off to the left again. Stay crouched and don't shoot anything! Give the ogre all the time you can... Make sure bastion is active in your defender subclass pop the bubble as soon as the ogre targets you. Watch the color you can get a pretty good idea when the bubble is about to drop. Have blessing of light active. As the bubble goes down go off the back of the rock and work towards the bridge. It will be a tough fight but usually by the time you get close to the bridge it's finished. This is no guarantee!! Lol it's how I have finished it and a friend is always one of the ones to finish that's how he does it on his titan
-
3 RepliesJump the rock with Titan, do it with invisible on hunter. Warlock can jump rock to.
-
Run MIDA Multi-tool if you own it. It allows you to run away a lot better and escape from all the enemies.
-
2 RepliesGet a sniper w/ high caliber rounds, will stagger ogres every time
-
1 ReplySuprisingly if you have dragons breath you could use it to block it from coming out of the corner with the solar grenades that it drops. It will save you at most 20 seconds if you have a fully loaded dragons breath.
-
If you have patience in time, use that before popping your bubble. You'll have plenty of time that way. Otherwise you'll need good timing and some luck. I've never had the ogre break my bubble..

Get to 32

Be a hunter

6 RepliesPop UR bubble right when he comes around the corner that's what I did as a 31 earlier today

The only methods I know and used to solo the lamps as a 31 on HM Crota are: I assume you know about the shortcut where you jump onto the ledge from the Rock on the right hand side of the 2nd lamp. This will massively increase your chances of getting to the bridge. The first time I did it I got lucky. Basically I shot the ogre with a high impact sniper rifle in the hopes of slowing him down. Once he was in range of shooting me with his beam and I started taking damage I put up my bubble. Make sure you are using perks that keep the bubble up as long as possible. This is where the luck came in. The bridge completed just as my bubble went down and I was already moving as it went down. At this point I just sprinted and jumped while clearing the bridge. Do not slow down, shoot or dodge just jump and run. The second method maybe tougher for you. As I have Ghorn I simply hit the ogre 5 times and he died but others have mentioned that a combination of sniper and rocket fire can do the same thing. Start with the sniper but switch to rockets, this will stagger the ogre, just before he reaches beam range. Keep on shooting and staggering him until he goes down. Hopefully he will be staggering too much to fire at you.
