Simply put, you shouldn't be playing this game for the rewards. You should play it because you want to, because you like to, and because it's fun. Otherwise, go get Strange Coins and buy whatever you need if Xur sells it or get it as a possible drop from a Legendary Engram.
Simply put, you shouldn't be playing this game.
Shortened for accuracy. No one should. It was fun for 15 hours six months ago. If we don't get rewards for slogging through this repetitive exercise in frustration, then there is no reason to play. Especially crucible. Has there ever been a less balanced multiplayer shooter? You'd be hard pressed to name one.

I wouldn't say destiny multiplayer is worse than modern warfare 2 but it does share the time to kill and spamfest feel of it so I'd say they're equal.

Um. OK, I actually think that's fair. I'll agree to that. MW2 was indeed a colossal mess even on a theoretical level (made especially worse in execution). A month before the game came out when all the perks were leaked/announced, I called the One Man Army cheese where you could just set all your classes to 1MA, and change all the other pro perks to abuse the noob tubes, weapon switching, and shortcut to killstreaks and then use pro perk bonuses on them as well. When I finally got 1MA, sure enough, it was easily abuse-able. It would even refill your ammo, making it even more OP than I thought it would. Again, the game was cheesed a month before the game was even released. On a the scale of imbalance, I agree with MW2 taking the cake. Then of course there were all the glitches and exploits like the Javelin and the like.

But getting rewards is one of the things that make this game fun
