So many people complain about destiny, yet I've put in probably almost 300 hours (as have many plus more) into the game and have had a blast. Sure there are tons of problems, but how many games can you honestly say give you that much replay value? Personally I can't list that many. 80$ for the amount of time I've spent playing the game is worth it to me, and bungie has done an amazing job giving me a new experience on a console.

Yeah that explains it. Sorry, I don't mean to be rude by saying this but if you had been playing since launch you would understand the frustration of players on a more personal level. I loved the game, flaws and all, until Christmas when the dlc came out. For me everything changed then. They released crota and buyable lvl 31 gear after I had done 30+ normal mode raids and 40+ hard mode(over all three of my characters) and had played the game for over 600hrs to attain a gear lvl below that. Then all my exotics had to be reset so that they could be the best guns in the game again. It destroyed the game for me. Destiny is a game where your level is determined by your armor and grinding(with luck) and not how much skill you have. So take that and reset it for the weapons you've worked hard for and in some cases make them almost useless(like the weapons you get from the vog) and allow people, who just picked up the game the day after release, to get the level you have in a matter of two weeks(at max) and they could get the same exotics I have from xur and it would already do more damage than mine while i would have to pay a fee to get mine to the same level. It was heartbreaking for me and I think for a bunch of others too. That's why I don't play anymore, I might try it when the wolves dlc comes out but if that is as bad as crotas then I will still be retired from the game. Think about it this way, all the work you're doing now to obtain weapons and gear could be pointless. If they handle this next dlc like they did the first one. I'll be able to get on, after not playing for months, and be a higher level then you in a matter of days. Last note, I had a ton of fun playing with friends and doing the raids. Those were awesome times, but after the dlc was released all that time I spent in the raid, with friends, had become worthless. The reason for doing the raid( to get the best armor and best weapons) became void. I literally felt like my time was stolen from me. Hopefully that gives you a little bit of insight for those of us who were grinding away for those weapons and gear since launch or at least for me.

  • Bungie punished players for being the most loyal steadfast Guardians with the TDB DLC reset.

  • First of all I would like to say thanks for not being a troll, and giving some valuable insight on why people may think this, also you were not rude at all! Now I'm am going to say the same to you, I am not trying to be rude at all. First of all when you say all that time was worthless, were you not having fun while doing it? To me if you're having fun doing it the money is worth it, especially for 3 months (release to dlc). I'm not saying it's the best choice, but for me, I'm not really worried what other people have/don't have so to me it just gives me more gameplay (even though I already leveled all the gear) because destiny is a game of grind is we want to be blunt about it. It's no where near the size of WoW and other big mmo's (yes I know destiny isn't really an mmo) so the fun of destiny really is acquiring new gear and guns and leveling them up and using them in raids. So basically for me I would not be upset by this fact. I will say in the other side of the coin I have been very lucky with this game and pretty much have every exotic with about 260hours so I have not had to go through months of not getting what you need etc, so I can't really relate to those feels. But in regards to the main topic, I feel even though to some that may be a game breaker, if you spent the whole release to dlc drop and loved the game, even that is worth the 60$ you paid just for the fact that most people who were unhappy with this dlc were probably everyday users. Again destiny is nowhere near perfect, but I definitely believe people need to give this game more credit then it's given. Note: sorry if things don't make sense I don't really feel like looking back and spell checking/arranging my thoughts lol.

  • No worries and to answer your question yeah it was fun, especially with friends. But for me I still want a reward either monetarily of socially(within the game of course). I want a status of "I've put my hours in for this piece of gear and weapon and I want it to show my experience" like an old person has gray hair and you know because of their physical identifiers that they've experienced much more in their journey of life then you have. Grant it I kept up with the development of the game and was part of the over hype train but from what I remember and looking back at the videos, the picture of the experience that was to be had in playing destiny, that was painted by the devs, seems very different from what I experienced with the game. And again I loved the game even though it wasn't exactly like they "painted" the game to be I still played it every night with friends and the experience was great. But when you take all the in game rewards of those experiences and make those rewards (and better ones) available without having to go through the same experience you had, with your friends, it cheapens the experience.

  • That makes sense. I can understand why you would feel like it cheapened your experience. I personally hope they don't go that route again, but it won't be a game breaker for me. But I hope you find fun in destiny again when the dlc comes out! And if you're on ps4 and ever want to play add me, nico802vt

  • Dude. Let's see. What if bungie decided to remove the materials for marks purchase availability and make you run around in circles in the same location for hours to get just enough helium to upgrade that 1 node on that 1 piece of gear? What would you think? Would you like it more, or less?

  • Oh. Cause thats exactly how the game was at release, until DLC. People were helping each other. Pointing out chests..... What a nightmare. That got old quick. I honestly don't think bungie have a clue how to handle the player base of this game and appease Activision at the same time.

  • You know, it's a new experience for bungie. Sure they didn't make it perfect, but they are listening to people, even though it may take some time. But I'm sorry you had to go through that, that sounds awful.

  • I'm not crying. Just saying. I really like this game. At this point my feeling is they need to cut their 10 year plan in half and release more content because we are dropping off this wagon.

  • You're not coming across that way at all! I agree though. They need fresh ideas if they want the game to achieve its desired lifespan, and they absolutely need fresh/more content. I heard HoW got delayed so they can improve on it though, so I actually have high hopes for this dlc!

  • Ahh I hope so too and I wish I could but I'm an Xbox one player. Thanks for the lovely conversation though and I hope they don't take that route again either haha. For your sake and the games.

Rereading your post I see I forgot to address a point directly. Yes, it definitely has been worth the 60$ and time experientially, but since they nullified the rewards from that experience it feels like part of that experience has been robbed and was wasted.
