Does anyone know what the max level cap will be? Will our beloved 300 attack weapons still be useful?

For story only. I don't see them doing much in the raid.

How awesome would it be if Xûr sold an upgrade kit for our older weapons? Something like 10-15 coins for one that could bump your weapon to the next "generation" of guns, so for HoW if you wanted a 365 ( just assuming that will be next maxed attack value) Fatebringer you'd need to buy two upgrade kits and level the power increase nodes. Bump if you think Bungie should look into it. PS I'm fully aware how mmos work and old gear becomes obsolete, but the difference here is that it's mostly the handling and feel of the gun that you "fall in love with" and want to continue to evolve.
-
Depends what level enemies you're fighting. I'll only be keeping my foil for oracles if I ever play vault.
-
I would assume the nightfall will bump to 32, so they would not be as useful in those any longer.

8 RepliesEdited by balazra: 3/16/2015 11:30:40 PMFor any enemy mobs up to level 30-31 yes higher mobs probably not. At the moment they work up until normal Crota, the only thing they don't work in is hard Crota. Edit: I love fatebringer. How ever this post is about 300 weps in general not the Lord all might fatebringer. In general 300 weps don't work so well in hard Crota, yes there are three or four that do and fate bringer os one of them. But most feel under powered compare to a general 331 wep. Chill with the fagbringer posts lol. And yes I have all the raid weps lol

people do realise the difference between 300 and 331 is minimal.. i reckon fatebringer will still be viable in HoW
-
Yea they will...in vog
-
2 RepliesThey will always be useful for level 30- missions. Also, a new difficulty for VoG is being released anyway with upgraded drops so just get a new version.
-
They will be as useful as they are now on everything........except higher level new content.
-
The cap might be 34 and the weapons from vog an vanilla will be less effective.
-
They're aren't now really
-
Not confirmed by Bungie Light level 34 and max gun damage 365
-
for the new raid no but the new strikes will be level 28 and the nightfall burns do triple damage so fate bringer and VOC will still be useful in 32 nightfall
-
Yup maybe not for the new HoW levels but all the old content and dark below shit they are.
-
1 ReplyI heard that Bungie is going to make all the weapons and armor viable for HoW lvl cap
-
you'd deal about 22% less damage, at that point I'd say it's not worth it at all...
-
In the normal areas yes against the raids and strikes of how more than likely not.
-
On everything except very endgame PvE yes still very viable. Very endgame PvE probably not.
-
8 RepliesNo. The disparity in the damage stats makes 300 weapons obsolete. You can barely use anything else besides VOC and Fatebringer for CE hard at the moment.
-
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
They probably will if they have void/solar/arc damage. Until you find other weapons with that damage.
-
I hope so. I love my Fatebringer. It'll suck if I have to get rid of it for not being viable in the HOW.
-
Edited by NateOrb: 3/16/2015 5:22:15 AMTheyll definitely be viable for everything except the raid especially the vog weapons Depending on the enemies in the raid they could be useful(well like fatebringer and voc) Before TDB came out you could argue that fatebringer would be unusable because of the 300 attack but then the raid turned out to be like 70% thralls and acolytes I bet 300 attack weapons will be pretty bad in the hard raid though if not normal too
-
I think the upcoming strike playlist is Dragon and that goes up to level 28 and you'll still be able to use them in Nightfall due to the damage buff. It won't be optimal, obviously, but still viable.
-
1 ReplyNo.. unless we will be able to upgrade them, I don't see them helping at all, fatebringer and voc barely help in hard crota
-
1 ReplyI wish raid weapons would get a buff so they are always max damage
