Is any genre as terrible as Rap?
EDIT: Let me clarify, I don't hate rap, I actualy enjoy some artists quite a lot. However rap, followed by country, is one of the genres that is the MOST clogged with terrible music out of all the genres I can think of.
Now, I believe there is some decent rap out there, Eminem and Tupac to just name 2 that I like, but for the other 90% of the gebre, does anyone else believe rap is just awful?
For starters, there's no actual talent when they "sing". They just speak with auto tune on. There are rappers that actually rap, but most of it is just spoken word bullshit set to a beat.
It's probably the most unoriginal genre I've ever heard. Every song is literally about getting pussy and making money, driving a fast car, and how much of an n word other people are.
Not only that, but they take very popular songs and sample them. Not remix, sample them, and use them to spout their drivel.

I've quite a eclectic taste in music and I tend to appreciate a thin line of particular artists that stuck a cord with me. I listen to pretty much any type of electronic music, World, Jazz Ambient, Classical, Metal, Prog... Anything can be appreciable and soulful as long as you're open minded enough. There's a lot of Rap artists I appreciate, though not so many from today's offering of rap stars, and I'd say the pinnacle of rap for me.... was around the mid 90's. Cypress Hill, Ice Cube, Naughty by Nature, Das Efx, Da Lench Mob, House of Pain, Beastie Boys, Funkdoobiest, Dr Dre, Snoop, Busta, Wu Tang Etc etc etc... The list could go on. Take a step back around 20 years and see how it used to be. A lot more about partying, smoking weed, chilling and talking about their homies and family. (Linked one of the old classics)

Over saturation is how the music industry survives. All genres have terrible artists. Look how popular nickleback was for instance.
