is it just me, but even in good lobbies with good connection, there is a huge delay it hitting a target with a throwing knife and getting the damage/kill.
Plenty of times ive made the hit, expected the kill, been killed by target, then get a throwing knife kill as a postmortem.
other times I dont get killed but there is still a delay, and its off putting especially with multiple target to deal with, if The guy hasn't died, I can not move on to the next target.
I have even thrown a knife then assumed ive missed because I havent dealt damage, then started firing my gun, then finallygot the hit with the throwing knife.
I know the game has some latency problems, but is this a specific problem with throwing knives, is the delay deliberate, maybe getting hit by a knife isn't meant to deal damage instantly
Anybody know the answer or have an opinion?

Probably just lag. I've gotten quite a few post mortems that way.

You're complaining about getting a kill later than expected. I fail to see the issue in this...yeah its weird...you still got the kill....how is this a problem? :)

Bungie needs to fix the lag in pvp and stop worrying about "cheeses" or "glitches" and actually fix this game. In what world does it makes sense that a person with red bar connection has a huge advantage over everyone else ? Upside down

Had an issue the other day where everyone was fully green as far as connection goes yet someone hit me with a throwing knife and all I could see was the knife spinning around my face for about 10 seconds, like when you kill a Cursed Thrall with one it just leaves it there spinning, what makes it weirder is that I didn't take any damage from it or get a lagged death.

Happens a lot man with bad connections between players. I would hear the sound of it connecting and also see it connect, but the damage only pops up a few seconds after. It makes for frequent kill trades.

it's not hitscan meaning that it has flight time and this game has bad p2p connection so delay happens. it was the same with the geth shotgun in mass effect 3.

There's a delay in everything. Sometimes I'll snipe someone and they'll run around like a chicken with no head for 3 seconds.

Yea. I experience delay on kills as well. I was in my bubble with helm of saint and armor of light on and someone rushed my bubble. I hit him with felwinters lie and hit him with my melee but he never died, and then my bubble went down and he killed me. He died by me melee a few seconds later. Can't stand it.

My issue is that the dot damage from throwing knives won't proc all the time like they are supposed too, especially if your knife hits your target after you die. I've also experienced the issue you are describing and I just assume it's lag from me or other players red barring.

I don't think there is supposed to be a delay because sometimes, when the planets align and the moon is waxing crescent, my throwing knife actually hits someone when it hits someone.
