Everyone at some point has bought gear or weapons from vendors. Vanguard, FWC, etc. Why is buying from them different than xur? Did you not "earn" commendations and marks? How are those different from strange coins and motes of light ?
Please explain I would like to understand your logic.
And could anyone explain to me what I should do with my strange coin if I don't use them when Xur is in town ?

3 RepliesWeekly heroic coins earned. I feel we all can agree with that. If you don't your stupid. Coins from a blue engram is RNG there for not earned. ( getting engrams is RNG so getting coins from them is RNG) Getting jelly from a engram is not earned it's RNG.
people sit afk and win exotics and legendarys that's not earned it's RNG.
Pvp rewards are RNG. Again people with 1 kill and a kD of(.1) get jelly. Killing atheon and getting vex and your friends get a shader..... Guess what that's RNG.
same with crota
So out of all thos things can be earned?
it's really simple people if you can't agree that sc are for the most part earned I can't help you. The game really is almost just RNG.
7 RepliesPeople don't bash the owners of Red Death who got it from week 1 and 4, but then they bash the owners who got it this week. People are retarded and this community is full of retards.

3 Repliesits because people want cool stuff, then dont want others to have it. makes them feel special. each post they see where someone is begging for that item makes them happy. idgaf who has what so long as i do. id prefer everyone had every weapon, that way no one gets carried.

3 RepliesSir we are in the Bungie forums you must take your logic and throw it out the window. Go be smart somewhere else.

11 RepliesOP - you won't find the answers you're seeking here. Either side is very much polarized to one side or the other. The crux of the problem is that Destiny doesn't have a proper end-game where core players can differentiate themselves. So, when a beginner buys a weapon that took them 500 hours to get, it creates a disproportionate emotion. Bungie needs to address the customization and end-game scenarios and I think the Xur madness will be toned down.
-
And I know it sounds contradictory, I know eris and new monarchy require a different currency and level to buy but xur sells purely exotic gear and upgrades
-
It wouldnt be smart to make someone earn a special currency and have to level them up to buy gear
-
People just need something to cry about. And having a lucky drop, yes lucky, makes them feel like they are better. And no, RNG is random so you did not earn it, you got lucky.
-
I think all methods are earned but I do see where some people come from. 150 marks is no joke. If you win every crucible game (which you won't) then it takes 50 crucible games to get 150 marks. 50 games times 10 minutes is 500 minutes or about 8 hours. Doing two or three weeklies takes less than an hour.

3 RepliesI actually consider anything you buy from any vendor is "earning" the gear or weapon. Marks, notes of light, strange coins are all specific rewards for completing certain missions, actions, ETC in the game. But all things considered, I don't really care how you got your weapons or gear, just have fun and play the game.

Here's what you should really do. Pay no attention to morons claiming that they earned their weapons/gear more so than others. Those morons are in the minuscule minority at best. It just seems like there's a lot of them because complainers are always among the most vocal.

same way most don't think a player with vanguard armor is as good as a player with raid armor. not saying there isn't good players with vendor stuff mostly, but a lot of casual and not very good players have it since they don't play much nor care about the game like hardcore raiders or ppl who get the guns from raids and nightfalls.

Toss them at the Crptarch. I hear he does some pretty funny tricks for a couple.

8 RepliesIt takes a while to grind for vendor gear but it only takes really less than an hour a week to amass a large amount of strange coins. I don't care what people do either way, but I think other vendors require more effort to get their stuff than xur does.

3 RepliesI see this has narked us both this week. There is no difference what so ever. Just a group of people who feel entitled to weapons and armour because of sheer arrogance and god complexes. I think the competitive nature of the gaming world has a role to play and also the misconception of what exotic means. Exotic does not mean rarity based. It's the individual perks on the weapons that place them in to the exotic category. For example; I feel that thorn is a lot more commonly used and owned over a legendary hand cannon such as Red Hand XI (could be wrong about the weapon name but you catch my drift). Just because something is classed as an exotic does not make it rare, just powerful. Besides that we can all agree that RNG makes everything random. Vendors, Xur and drops. All random. RNG makes it almost impossible to have a rarity rating on gear as anything from a particular loot table can drop at any time. Of corse you get items that appear millions of times over others but I would honestly chalk that up to to a power rating, not rarity.

3 Repliesyou do earn strange coins you scrub
-
1 ReplyYou vearned them from vendors xD

Kids like to bitch and think that due to the fact they have a weapon that's not up for sale, that they are "special". Do whatever you want with the coins man, dont listen to them.
