Blade dancer or gun slinging
Making a Hunter which class should I use comment some tips on how to use the gunslinger

In Crota's end i would definitly say blade dancer but if i'm fighting a boss like atheon then i would go gunslinger for the ranged super attack.

If blade dancer could have throwing knives instead of grenades or blink strike, that'd be great

8 RepliesOnce you start getting legendary weapons, head shots with them do more damage than anything you can do with a Golden Gun. So, why use it if you are going to do LESS damage than if you had kept your sniper. Heck, even a VoC does more damage on Atheon than a Golden Gun! Only thing Gunslinger is good for is triple jump.

I prefer Gunslinger in pvp, golden gun is fun and I love the throwing knives. Bladedancer is probably better in pve. Although the super is fairly useless for kills in endgame content, the ability to go invisible has its uses.

Edited by Turkeybean: 3/14/2015 2:22:34 AMIt's all situational. Short version - PVP: Gunslinger. PVE: Bladedancer. BD can clear multiple hordes of enemies in PVE. Combined with Mask of the Third Man helm you can not only use less of your super, but also regen health with orbs. Hungering blade (standard BD perk) also regens health through kills. GS gives you an opportunity to one shot three guardians with golden gun. It's very fast and efficient. Paired with Symbiote helm you can have 4 shots. Using throwing knives is also a bonus. They can give you that last bit of damage you need to win a firefight instead of reloading.

Gunslinger with over penetrating perk and enemies explode perk. You can explode a group of like 10 thrall with one shot

Edited by J1bber: 3/16/2015 9:51:08 PMDepends why you are making the hunter... If you want to use the sword on crota go bladedancing. Otherwise its a tossup, I like both in pvp, for pve go gunslinging, you are rarely that close to enemies and never for the boss fight...

Have both maxed and I only run Bd if im running the sword. For gunslinger I use combustion and keyhole to make the super better and whatever the perk that resets the knifes cooldown if you kill an enemy with a precision hit with the knife. Also for pve I have as much armor and agility and pvp is recovery and agility. Dont let anyone hear persuade you though. Play with both subclasses and see which one you like better. Last advice ill give is to max both subclasses out. You never know what the game will bring with new dlc.

1 ReplyI maxed gunslinger first, then I went to blade dancer. I honestly really prefer bladedancer, but I think I'm the only idiot who runs a bladedancer with such low armor in comparison to recovery and agility.

1 ReplyDamn, I made my hunter three days ago and decided to use bladedancer. The invisibility seemed fun and I figured if I ever end up running sword it'll be more useful. Oh well as I play more I'll max gunslinger out pretty soon too.

Gunslinger for sure However, In pvp I love having the fast run speed and insta cool down blink strike.

I got lucky and went Gunslinger first before I read the forums. If I had gone Bladedancer to level a lot things might have been much rougher.

Either use gunslingers trance and chain of woe or go combustion and keyhole. If you can land a precision kill trance and chain will make your guns amazing. While a combustion keyhole combo will make each golden gun shot do as much as a nova bomb to waves of enemies. It really depends on you though.

I switch between the two based on the situation. I run BD in PvP and vex strikes, and gunslinger for other strikes and patrols. Just experiment and find the one that works best for you.
