xurs selling it, so this might prove more useful now. its range is weak and its perks basically boil down to "gimp them so i can win".
if you encounter one head on in what used to be suros's farther range and try to take one out trading shots you'll probably lose.
if you're very close they have piss poor hip fire and you'll probably win if you jump them with a sg.
their range is terrible, and even in its own tree 3lw and bad juju will best it at further ranges.
at its strongest area, burst fire weapons suffer to highly mobile targets. this is due to all their damage relying on landing those three shots.
mobile players with accurate weapons can take advantage of this. in particular the handcannons perform amazingly while in the air. bad juju has hip fire and a high rate of fire, and the mida has an excellent speed boost to stay mobile.
EDIT: In regards to the Thorn,
I see a lot of mentions to this gun. It's a 2hko headshot with a delay. Red Death 2hko's with headshots and there's no delay.
Red Death has life regen and speed reload wrapped into one ON KILL.
If a Thorn gets 2 headshots and the Red Death kills a user/shoots a grenade then the Red Death will survive. The Red Death will NOT regen life during the gun fight.
Thorn is not a built in counter to Red Death. When the fight is active, disregard the Red Death perk. It only applies afterwords.
EDIT: Strafing
the spread with aggressive ballistics is bottom left, mid, top right iirc. careful which way you run and when.
basically, don't strafe left.
EDIT: High Caliber Rounds
people have mentioned that they have no effect in crucible- they are not sourcing any material and are INCORRECT.
take a hcr gun and shoot yourself in the foot in water. take hcr off and shoot again.
lets not mislead players, please!
i hope this helps, thanks for reading.

4 RepliesGot over soul edict yesterday and red death and I prefer the edict to red death in most situations

9 RepliesI've been trying to tell people SRANGERS RIFLE>Bad juju>Red death. But people think I'm crazy.

11 RepliesEdited by TeslaDoc: 3/14/2015 3:51:03 AMMy Vanquisher VIII has a higher RoF, the same impact, higher stability and nearly the same range. And it fires full auto. Once all the fuss dies down folks will drift to what works.

High caliber rounds, as a friend said makes the screen shake more intensely which is something I'd like to do.

3 RepliesI've noticed Red Death users have a hard time shooting me when I use the Mida Multi Tool on a max agility build. Since I run a Bladedancer with the Fleet Footed perk on, Max agility (including +2 agility from Mida), and Radiance Dance Machines, I'm practically like Neo dodging bullets. I wouldn't say Mida is a hard counter to Red Death users but with proper strafing techniques, you can usually out play them. Hope this may help those who are getting frustrated by the Red Death.

Thorn negates the healing as long as he burns even after his kill so at least you give your team a fighting chance to get him.
-
1 ReplyI just counter Red Death with the Fang. As long as you keep a good distance Red Death falls apart when put up against a scout rifle.
-
1 ReplyThe Achilles' Heel of Red Death is its slow fire rate. Unless the guy gets the drop on you, its very difficult to take anyone who is MOVING quickly with it. First night of Iron Banner it was giving me grief because I was finding it hard to get away from it, even when I knew I was taking fire from it. But I usually run an Armor/Recovery build with my Warlock. So I switched it around and started running an Recovery and Agility build....and had a LOT fewer problems with it. Red Death manages to land the first burst...but then has trouble catching up to land the second or third to put me down. If you have them Thorn and Suros Regime (if youre in the bottom half of the mag) is also a help.

Red death and thorn counter eachother. If the red death guy wins he gets health. However if another thorn user fires upon him he stops regen. This applies with any gun but thorn does tick damage. so it will continue to damage even if the owner stops firing.

1 ReplyRed Death counters Thorn

1 ReplyIf someone can kill me with red death before I can kill them with TLW, Respect.

2 RepliesRed death is fun but come iron banner.. hello thorn, goodbye gaurdians
-
3 RepliesMeh..... Red death kills me it's fair share but only because everyone has it. Bad juju even less. Red death is the new suros so if you are a good shot you will do will with it. Still thorn and TLW are the best primaries in pvp. I have been using red death for fun this week but if we start to lose I'll switch right back to thorn.

1 ReplyBlink shotgun combo is still very dangerous hehe

1 ReplyHigh caliber rounds only slightly stagger your opponent more. It's really not worth using them. That being said, are you smoking something?
-
1 ReplyI find red death to be good when enemies run at you. Other wise i dont like it. Bad juju or three little words imo is better. Thorn imo is better as well.

1 ReplyGet Suros and kill people on vehicles. Did that five times in one match. I was clutch

25 RepliesThis kid is an idiot, yeah its range bar may be low, but try it out you xurner, its range is absolutely amazing. Him selling it is going to be the reason why pulse rifles are now going to get nerfed.

6 RepliesEdited by chattingmyth: 3/14/2015 6:02:55 PMI will repeat I see no reason for me to go back to Oversoul or Bad JuJu in PvP Red Death is amazing. Two burst kill, decent range, high fire rate and reload and after upgrades health regen and more stability. Sure I'll use Oversoul when I do Crota or Bad JuJu when doing strikes and VoG but for PvP Red Death is easily my favorite Pulse Rifle. How I handle against Red Death? Thorn
-
Red death heal stops after taking damage, so thorn will stop the recovery.
-
With or without hcr I'm doing 36 headshot damage
-
Not sure where you are getting that it has terrible range. I am able to pop people across Rusted lands with ease. Almost all pulse rifles have good natural range, despite what their range stat actually is. It's the class of weapon, not the weapon itself, that matters most for range. Spot-on with the Red Death vs. Thorn assessment. Red Death is one of two weapons that can counter DoT, the other one being Suros, as the health regeneration perks save them from dying much of the time. Btw, it's about time we had a gun that can counter that cheesy revolver.

1 ReplyLol red death isn't that good I always destroy red death with other regular guns
-
2 RepliesYeah I'm gonna try my vex with my knucklehead radar. That should prove to be a good combo in theory, but I could be wrong too.
