Just wanna see if people actually know the answer to this question
*edit* Damage in a full magazine for those who need clarification
*edit* if Thunderlord's recoil is a problem then play a month if Battlefield 4 then come back and you'll land 60 Crits's :D
*edit* Just to clarify, a full 60 billets of non CRIT Thunderlord is equal to 2 Ghorn rockets... Therefore if you hit 30 CRITS (generally average) then you do a lot more damage than Ghorn... If you can hit 50 CRITS (my average) then it's easily double Ghorns overall damage :D
*EDIT* 120 replies! That's insane guys keep it up! I like the little debates and the results to the poll
Read spoiler after vote, please don't change after you read it :)
The correct answer is thunderlord.. 60 bullets vs 2 rockets and it beats ghorn.. 180 bullets vs 6 rockets and the gap is even more
... but did you consider damage over time? Which one does more damage in a shorter amount of time? How many rockets can you fire at Crota before you're done emptying the Thunderlord?
-
The difference is ghorn does that damage almost instantly , you can duck out fire a rocket or two and duck back . Thunder lord you have to maintain line of sight to target and therefore expose yourself to fire for longer . Also thunder lord is boss :)

Edited by Know Typo: 3/18/2015 10:10:43 AMMaybe thunder lord does more, but a gally will allow me to take down crotas shield and kill Atheon a lot quicker
-
Thunderlord stability doesn't really seem like an issue to me
-
The thunderlord stats probably don't take into consideration the distance
-
Edited by Kainamii: 3/18/2015 9:42:27 AMDamage per magazine is a really poor comparison because you often don't have the time to stand around and empty a full 60 rounds into something unless you're against Atheon. And if damage per mag were important, low impact high RoF ARs would be the strongest primary weapons in the game. Except Necrochasm because it has such a shitty mag size.

2 RepliesI prefer pressing a button ones instead of 60 or 30 times

4 Replies"Alright everyone starting shooting your Thunderlords at Crota....NOW!!!"
-
warlock voidwalker melee actually does so much damage
-
Shoulda clarified the question leads one to believe dps.

1 ReplyI said Gjallarhorn because I don't have a Thunderlord so I can't really comment on its damage output.I don't even know anyone with a Thunderlord.Everyone I know has a Gjallarhorn.
-
Dragons breath if the solar flare stuck or the enemy stayed inside the radius. There was a post that compared the damage output of gjallarhorn and dragons breath and DB won by a lot. Its just a shame that the solar flares dont stick.

SGA. It's basically automatic clown cartridge, without the reloading!
Imagine saying this in a salesman voice
1 ReplyIcebreaker, because infinity.
:3
HA You compared super good advice and ghorn LOL
-
1 ReplyI soloed crota with my thunderlord because I didn't have a gjally at the time.

5 RepliesEdited by Chaz934: 3/13/2015 10:28:53 PMGjallarhorn is great and all, but it's not the God weapon everyone thinks it is. It's great for Crota because it takes out his shield quickly, but it's not really a game changer compared to any other exotic versus other enemies.
-
Pocket infinity.
-
That was a no brainer
-
This poll is very biased. For you to land 30 critical hit bullets you would have to aim steady and take your time. To find one rocket whilst jumping to avoid being hit takes a grand total of 1-2 seconds.
-
Why is suros up there?
-
5 thunderlords would blow crota up hard.
-
It makes no sense because you can fire 4+ gallys before emptying a thunderlord clip. I have both and gally is superior
-
Idk, I'm pretty sure that by the time you fire both rockets, and then start the 2nd volley of rockets, thunderlord is still on its first mag. So while TL does overall more damage, it's dps may still lose out. Not to mention on mass targets, Lmg 's lose to all rockets be a use they apply damage to all targets in its radius. I like TL but in real world application, there are few places it'd be better suited.
-
Thunderlord does indeed, however the most important thing in destiny is dps or damage per second, after which ghorn has tons, thunderlord doesn't.

2 RepliesI didnt know thunderlord did that much damage
