Do you think the Super abilities need to have damage reduction in PvP?
For anyone who views, participates, or comments on this thread, I ask that you post up an important piece of information. I seek this information to gain an overall insight into how much the Super abilities affect PvP in destiny. This is to help determine the legitimacy of peoples claims of what the majority states.
To get this information, visit www.destinytracker.com Enter your name and platform in the search box. Once you are on your profile, click on the crucible stats page. Add together all your Super kills across all your characters. Take than number and divide it by your total number of kills. You can find Super kills on the crucible page by scrolling down and viewing it under the tab Character Weapons. Also on that tab is the option to switch which character stats you are viewing.
I have 1,166 Super kills and 25,495 total kills. Super kills make up 0.045, or 4.5%, of my total kills in the crucible.
A whole number or percent is fine.

Supers were meant to be showstoppers.

Edited by BannedMythicAccount: 3/17/2015 1:53:44 AMI have a strong feeling this thread was created to lick your ego of having a low super %
This is to help determine the legitimacy of peoples claims that Supers do, or do not, affect PvP.
So people can have illegitimate claims to it affecting PvP ? Supers clearly affect PvP just by having a presence in the game, much like heavy ammo. You don't need someones stats to tell you that. Based on this and your other responses in this thread, I can see a pattern whereby you're trying to somehow reflect that a person's ability to have a super count, having it representing as a measure of overall skill in the game, the lower amount being less reliant on supers hence [the false notion] that they are better players. This is probably why you are hounding others for their super percentage and why you showcase yours in an discussion you made about possible damage reduction to supers. They have little to no correlation and it doesn't support the view that supers should have a damage reduction. What you're simply talking about in your original argument , if I cut the crap you're pulling , is. Whether or not Supers should be 1-hit kills? To say no, defeats the whole purpose of a Super in this sandbox. Which just meant that you designed this entire 'study' based on something that doesn't even hold up to your stat check. Your argument should focus on frequency of Supers in Crucible not strength if you were legitimately concerned. Which is why I believe you fabricated this argument for exposure to your super percentage which basically equates to the same thing as someone just farting into a wine glass and smelling it while judging others for their opinion which you do not really care for. [As you're really too busy, just smelling your own fart] Also half your OP was dedicated to stat checking. You gave no real followthrough with your introducing argument of ''The Super ability, to strong? You Decide.' and then 'Do you think the Super abilities need to have damage reduction in PvP?' This is a really one sided argument. Whats up with that? Edit: You basically just gave away your agenda to why this bogus study was founded in one of your responses. 'I just don't agree with the small fraction of the community that assert original game play is without skill.' I personally disagree to that notion in context to Destiny as there needs to be checks and balances to additional gameplay additions that doesn't come to the detriment and sacrifice of personal skill level. You should have just started your OP off with that point in mind and then had that as your lead argument, instead of creating a false trail thread designed to seemingly [although not your real intention but the thread intention] undermine the use of Supers for a more traditional style of gameplay type.

It is called a "super" for a reason
-
Everyone has supers so they are not op.
-
If you think they are OP and unbalanced, you don't belong here. Would you want to rip a hole in space and time, throw a chunk of it at a group of other players and reduce their health by 60%?
-
Honestly I would enjoy if in the future there was a "Hardcore" mode with no radar, no exotic weapons (crutch weapons), no supers. I think this would be alot more competetive imo

I'm honestly not trying to be a dick. Is English your first language?
-
Your grammar, not strong enough.
-
I am more interested in which class has the higher percentages.

Every hunter choose yes

IMO I would be fine if every time you died the super bar would go down just a tad bit. Supers do get annoying, and this is coming from a bladedancer.

Your spelling is too strong

My super kills out of my all my PvP kills came out to around 33%. PvP is affected by Supers, for good and bad. The good, it can change the flow of a battle for a team that might need that upper hand. And causes players to think more strategically on how to use and implement their supers. The bad, it can change the flow of battle in a negative way. I have seen matches where a team can barely get a kill in because the other team is just unloading super after super on the imposing team. Before they can unleash their own supers, before they capture a point; before they get the chance to grab the heavy ammo which could help them from that mess. This can be really bad for a team if they have the wrong supers (mainly a team full of one class and not diverse). Seems funny but for a super that is suppose to kill guardians in one hit, I've seen a warlock take two shots from golden gun and still live and the same thing for bladedancer at times.

4943 Ability Kills / 14948 Kills = .3306 or 33.06%

Meh, whatever. Just counter the super. Most of my kills are not super related.
