dont worry, it gets better as you read!
“That ship’s not one of ours; take it out!”
“This is Spartan one-one-seven, can anybody hear me? Over.”
“Isolate that signal. Is that you Master Chief? You mind telling me what your doing on that ship?"
“Sir. Finishing this fight.”
* * *
Master Chief checked his motion tracker. There were no signs of flood in this part of the ship. Thousands of Brutes and Elites were scrambling to board the ship to get to Earth to annihilate the humans, but most Elites were denied by Honour Guards. It was all Brutes running the show, not to mention Jackals and Drones. Master Chief noticed the Elites starting to break the Covenant, and fighting the Brutes, regardless of what the prophets had ordered. Without Cortana, what was Master Chief?
A geneticly enhanced super-soldier.
He was… lost. No. Not lost. What was this feeling? He didn’t know what to do. Kill the prophet of Truth? Yes. That was his mission. Kill or capture. Either way; he had to kill everything on this ship, may it be Elites, honour guards Brutes, Hunters, Drones, Jackals… everything. “Well, here it goes.” Chief said to himself. He jumped into the ship, and slid down the ramp. Spartan John-117 walked up the arching stairway. Corridors… empty. No one anywhere. Then, out of nowhere, something hit John and his shield meter reduced to absolutely nothing. Jackals with Sniper Rifles. John thought as he dived behind a wall. He didn’t know where the bullet had came from, but the Prophet knew he was here-and he prayed that the jackal wasn’t on an angle to hit him. Nothing sizzling plasma or explosive Brute Shots, nor any Carbine rounds-and yet, Master Chief’s motioned tracker had dozens…hundreds of red dots-indicating enemies. Should Master Chief kill the prophet, exit the ship, then to the surface of Earth? No. He would find out the secret of this ship, and then protect Earth. Master Chief still had the nagging thought in his head-What do the Covenant want from Earth? Was it like the crystal from Reach, or was there something even more important? That didn’t matter now… The red dots proceeded on Master Chief’s position, when only about three meters away, stood a Brute Captain. Luckily Master Chief still had a large box between him and the Brute. Master Chief wished he had his fellow Spartans here-were they dead? All these questions… John threw a plasma grenade he had picked up on High Charity, it stuck to the Brute Captain’s face, and detonated. This explosion killed about seven other Brutes following closely behind the Captain. Now, it was the oh-so-familiar sound of plasma sizzling the through the air, but no grenades. Chief heard the Prophets voice, yet he did not know how, probably from the COM frequency. “The Demon is now on board. I want all Honour Guards and personnel to the bridge of the ship to guards the,” The Prophet paused. “Sacred Icon.” The Prophet finished. Master Chief noticed a lot of the Brutes turn and head towards the bridge. Master Chief now only had to take out 43. That was a break. Master Chief had no weapon, only three more plasma grenades and a fragmentation grenade, not the weapons of choice in this situation exactly. Master Chief poked his head around the corner and threw a grenade-without even looking to see what was there. About twelve Jackals spread across the hall, the hall only being two meters wide, caused the Jackals shield to overlap. Even if Master Chief got by those, there were two hunters with their shields up behind the jackals. John noticed a Needler on the ground. Why had he not noticed this before? John asked himself. He jumped of his cover position, fired eleven rounds, and dived back. He noticed his energy shield bar had dropped by a quarter. They were ready for him.

Sorry for the smallness. CHAPTER 6============= “What is it?” Kelly asked. “We’ve already located a strange room, and they say we’ve found a possible entrance to the huge structure.” A man said. Dr. Halsey, Kelly and Fred ran over to the dig site. “identification?” An ONI agent asked. Fred and Kelly showed his their cards. “Terribly sorry sir, and ma’m.” the ONI agent said. “And yours?” He looked at the doctor who was searching frantically through her pockets for her badge, or any other form of identification. Nothing. “I must have left it on Reach.” The doctor said. She looked around in horror. “You may not enter the structure, but you may watch from the outside.” The ONI agent decided. Dr. Halsey thanked her, and sat down, to observe the archaeologists dig. Fred and Kelly entered the structure, and noticed how perfect everything was. The floor had extremely complicated geometry on the floor, and roof. This was something they still took time to complete, even though it would be overlooked by most people. “Fred. I’ve got enemies on my motion tracker.” “Me too, but they’re not enemies are they?” “No, they’re unidentified.” “That can’t be good. Hand signals from now on.” Fred declared. Kelly nodded. And they walked quietly down a ramp, leading deep into the structure. Finally, they noticed the brightest room ever seen, and there was a glowing light in the middle. Unidentified alien creatures poured in from a whole bunch of entrances the two Spartans didn’t even know about. They studied the room, it had at least a 30 foot arching roof, with 30-40 foot high walls. Fred looked at the aliens, and identified them as the ones he had faced on Installation-02. He wasn’t going to mess with them, because these were no doubt Special Operations men. He wasn’t going to challenge an alien race’s best men. Not to mention that the alien race was at least 300 years ahead of the humans, which means they were at least 100-200 years ahead of the Covenant. The rooms silver walls reflected much of the light from the T-shaped green object. Even though the object was green, it shone golden light. The object floated over a glass portion of the floor, probably only 1 metre by 1 metre. Surrounding the glass was holographic panels, which needed to be activated before grasping the object in one’s hands. Fred looked at Kelly, and gestured with his Fuel-Rod Cannon to hit Kelly’s rocket launcher shell, creating a mid-air explosion, when they had to reload, they would run. Fred held his fingers up in the air. He put one finger up… then two… then three. “mark.” Fred whispered. They fired four rockets and four Fuel-Rod rods almost simultaneously. They exploded right in the face of the leader, wearing a gold and orange head dress. The explosion no doubt caused numerous tragedies, but they didn’t care to watch. Kelly and Fred ran throwing fragmentation grenades behind them. “Get those infidels!” One of the alien creatures shouted. Explosions detonated, the aliens had planted mines everywhere. The Spartans, shields went down, then recharged. Fred’s shield never went down all of the way, because he had approximately seven on now. They found a dead end. Kelly gestured up, and they climbed up the 90 degree angle wall. Shots were fired at them, mostly missing, but caused huge chunks of the wall to collapse, sometimes hitting the Spartans. Fred fired his last shot in the Fuel-Rod clip, hitting the crowd of aliens below, killing many. Fred didn’t care to watch his work. They laughed in alien tongues in the Spartan’s effort to reach the top. Fred had reached the top. He let out a sigh of relief when Kelly appeared up top. They noticed an elevator shaft come up to their left, and out came the creepy orange bastards. Fred ran with Kelly, down the hallway, pieces of metal and of the wall falling all around them, not to mention their shields shimmering from the light peppering of small rounds. Fred noticed another staircase. He ran up it, only to find it blow up halfway up. He looked behind him. Three of the orange creatures had grabbed Kelly’s leg, and pulled her into the horde of bastards. “Fred!” She screamed as Fred leaped over the lack of stairs. He fired rockets into the crowd, making sure they weren’t close enough to Kelly. Then, Fred noticed something new… “You!” One of the aliens pointed to the orange creature shorter than him. “Go retrieve the sacred crystal, for we must do what was meant to be done. We must destroy it along with the humans. Go!” It was all clear to Fred now. They had the same beliefs as these new creatures, but yet the still wanted the humans eliminated. He turned on his video recorder, and observed the crowd pull Kelly away. He could do nothing useful. He looked back at the wall. Human shotguns, Sniper Rifles, and every other human UNSC weapon you could imagine was here. He grabbed a sniper rifle, and checked through the scope. It was a regular sniper, X5 then to X10. He saw the leader’s head. A headshot was useless with those high-tech shielding. He fired s shot at the shield generator at the back. It blew up, and the alien fell to his knees, blood dripping from his back, and he screamed, as the fight was now on. Fred also noticed that they had no shields around their shield generators. Fred fired more at the enemies. It was time to retrieve the ‘sacred crystal’ Fred thought.

Just HAD to finish Chapter 5!! Truth floated gently down the purple gravity lift, anticipation for the Halos to be activated was overcoming him. “How much longer?” Truth asked his loyal Honour Guards. “Not much longer Noble Prophet,” The Honour Guard answered. He looked down, it was to dark. Then, they hit a floor in a pitch-black room. The lights of red Brute Plasma Rifles filled the air, then the set up flood lights, illuminating the area. It was a circular area, with golden symbols, and they glowed slightly. The Prophet immediately hovered to a cluster of them. He put his finger in the middle of a circular design. He waited, until it shone light. An extremely bright light poured out of the figure, and Brutes and Jackals came to watch the scene. A cave opened up, with a loud sound of rocks scraping. Finally, a twenty foot arching cave was visible. He entered it, and saw- Absolutely nothing. “What is it, Doctor?” Kelly asked. “My radio was on.” Dr. Halsey replied. “Does that mean-“ “I hope not.” The doctor quickly ended the conversation. “Let’s get to work.” The doctor said. The Spartans nodded, and walked over to the largest dig area. The doctor observed the plains of absolutely nothing. The planet was uninhabited. There was no animals, or even molluscs here. There was never any form of life here-except for the Forerunners… Dr. Halsey had told Kelly about the Forerunners. Kelly thought that the Forerunners we’re her ascendants. That would make the Forerunners humans, and that could shake up the Covenant Loyalists. “Dr. Halsey. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.” A man said, perhaps leading the dig. “Loto! Loto!” A man yelled from the hole. “We’ve found something!” The man that was talking to Dr. Halsey said. Tentacles slashed at the Elites, the Arbiter had already cut off four with his energy sword. “Throw plasma grenades in it’s mouth!” the Commander shouted to the Sangheili. Unggoy sloppily chucked plasma grenades at the giant’s mouth. Gravemind made an effort to dodge the blue grenades, then whip with his tentacles. He had killed at least seven more Sangheili, and countless Unggoy. Lekgolo stood strong firing their Fuel-Rod Cannons at the tentacles and huge mouth of Gravemind. One whipped at the Arbiter, the Arbiter narrowly dodged it, but grabbed onto it. It pulled him up, and slapped him at the wall, but the Arbiter hung on tightly. He then waited until the tentacle stopped moving around wildly. He then jumped from the tentacle into the Gravemind’s mouth. It seemed it hadn’t noticed him. He primed four grenades and dropped them before jumping out. He turned invisible on his way the ground. He then unsheathed his sword, cutting down more the Gravemind’s tentacles. All four grenades exploded at the same time, Gravemind screamed a disgusting roar, falling to the ground, but it got back up. It swung it’s tentacles more violently than ever, killing another Sangheili, then roaring. Plasma that touched the tentacles lit it on fire, enflaming the entire tentacle. Unggoy that decided to charge up their Plasma Pistols and fired them were able to burn a hole right through whatever part of Gravemind it hit. Gravemind seemed to have infinite tentacles, they just kept coming. Lekgolo managed to destroy most of Gravemind’s ‘facial’ area. They kept shooting, and then finally, Gravemind dropped, but landed right on the Arbiter. An Unggoy ran up, charged up a shot and fired it at the part of Gravemind that was on top of the Arbiter. The Arbiter thanked him deeply. “By the rings…” A Sangheili said. They looked around the room, nothing but the slaughtered Gravemind and their own corpses littering the floor. A blue Sangheili knelt next to his fallen comrade. The Arbiter looked around the room. He stepped into the magma, which was not hot, but almost freezing cold. He recoiled his blade, then pocketed it. “Of all my years, I have never experienced a battle so great.” The Arbiter said. “You may have failed on the first Halo, but we’ve succeeded here. He was ramped.” The Commander said to the Arbiter. “I know.” The Arbiter said. “I just, don’t understand why one would go ramped, with no reason.” The Arbiter said. “My know why!” A worthless yellow Unggoy cried. “When me lonely, me want to hurt someone!” It yelled. Fellow Unggoy told it to be quiet, but the Arbiter saw he was right. He was one-hundred percent right. The Gravemind was lonely. “500 more ships exiting slipspace!” “Get MAC Cannons on it!” Lord Hood shouted in reply. “But sir! They’re not Covenant.” The voice called. “Then my God, what are they?” Lord Hood saw through the Cairo’s veiwscreen, a huge ship, four times the size of any Covenant Frigate or Flagship. “My God.” Lord Hood whispered.

CHAPTER 5==================== “Where is the creature?” The Commander asked. “Down that hole.” The Arbiter gestured in to the hole. “By the rings,” the Commander said. “Surely, you are fooling us.” “No. This is where Tartarus pushed me over. I thought of death, then realized not.” The Arbiter said. “We will die.” The Commander said as he looked down the hole. He saw nothing. All of a sudden, Flood poured in from every direction. They wielded Fuel-Rods and Rocket Launchers, and other heavy weapons. Wraiths and Scorpions, all ready to decimate the Elites. The Arbiter jumped into the hole, then was followed by the Spec-Op Commander. After a moment of being puzzled, the other Elites in the squads jumped, followed by Hunters and Grunts. They fell, for quite a while, before stopping in mid-air. Some were caught by the tentacles of the Gravemind, while some were gently floated to the ground, which was just a large rock surrounded in greenish-yellow magma. The Arbiter was one of the Sangheili caught by the Gravemind. “What… Have you come for? Why have you not gone to the Sacred World, and stop the leader of your futile race from acquiring the key to the Ark.” Gravemind said. The Arbiter caught a funny look from some of his Sangheili. ] “We have come to ask of your assistance.” The Arbiter said, calmly. He noticed some of his Sangheili trying to wriggle free of the creature’s grasp. “Hold still. He will do you no harm.” The Arbiter announced, loudly. Gravemind looked at the Arbiter. “You know nothing. You must receive the key.” Gravemind said. “I am sorry, parasite.” The Arbiter was interrupted. “I am not parasite. I am not live, or death. I do not breath, I do not eat. I have been created by your creator, and the humans’ creator, I am much like you, but I face death more than you ever have. To you, I look like one of… them. I am not. I am the buffer between the extinction of all life in the universe. I am the most important being ever.” Gravemind then dropped the Elites he was holding. “Do not talk of what you are, for that does not matter to us. Our faith no longer matters to us.” The Arbiter said, sitting on the ground. “What do you mean by key?” the Arbiter asked. “You are disturbing. Why do you waste all of this time with talk?!” Gravemind said. “There is no time. We have a trustworthy human saving us, he is on the Ark.” “He knows nothing. You all know nothing. The Ark is worthless unless you have the key!” Gravemind took a nasty swipe at a minor blue Sangheili, killing it. “Open fire! Kill it! Fire until it is dead!” The Arbiter screamed. “Finished.” Dr. Halsey said. “Good, can I fight now?” Kelly asked. “Well, I have a special mission, now.” Dr. Halsey replied. “Let me just run the polygon transfer routine… adjusting atom size, divide by the nucleus of the average heart cell-got it.” The doctor said. “What are we doing?” Kelly asked as rings, orange in colour surrounded her. “Let’s just say we’re helping another Spartan in need. Let’s go, we must hurry.” Dr. Halsey disappeared, followed by Kelly’s disappearance. “Where are we?” Kelly asked. “It’s more beautiful then I’ve ever dreamed!” Dr. Halsey said. “What is it?” Kelly asked, irritated. “This is another Halo.” The doctor replied. Kelly said nothing. She just looked at the other side of the ring in the air with awe. “Fred is here, and he’s about to make a huge mistake.” The doctor stated. “If you say so. Mission Objective?” “I recommend opening that door before you go through it.” “Yes m’am!” Kelly said. She ran over to the enormous blast door and looked at the hollow panel. She didn’t know how, but she understood them. She made the door open, seeing a battle between huge orange creatures, and Fred taking cover behind a box. Kelly jumped behind a wall, taking the doctor with her. She examined the nine-foot-tall giants. They were huge. They wielded powerful guns, and destroyed the floating robots they were battling. “Sentinels.” Dr. Halsey whispered. Kelly looked at the armoured giants. They were completely covered in an orange suit, and it covered every bit of their bodies, then they had the armour placed on top of the suit, covering their entire bodies except for their key joints, their knees, elbows, shoulders, and parts of their neck and ankles. They had no facial features, they were completely covered in the orange material. Kelly wielded a modified Jackhammer Rocket Launcher from the armoury where she had her MJOLNIR Mark VII armour put on. She also had taken a Fuel-Rod Cannon, from the captured Covenant weapons bin. She had all she can carry-40 rounds. She remembered only being able to carry 25 plus five in her weapon, now in the new armour, she could carry 40 plus five in the weapon. She could also carry sixteen Jackhammer rockets. That was including the four already in this modified edition of the regular M19 SSM rocket launcher. This was the M20 SS2 BM Rocket Launcher. Clearly the more compact and explosive rocket shells made it a much more acceptable weapon for ground forces. She fired two rockets into the crowd of the orange aliens. Only one of them died. She noticed their orange energy shields flicker as well. They wore hideous headdresses, orange and lime green in colour. Some were larger, smaller, and different colours, these determined ranks. She fired another two, then unloaded the slip. She then fired her Fuel-Rod Cannon into the group, five shots, with help from Fred, they had eliminated the groups. The room looked like a hallway, and it reminded Dr. Halsey of the video John had sent her of the control room. This was the hallway before it. “Good to see you, Spartan-104.” Kelly said. “No time for pleasantries. Fred, your making a huge mistake. What your about to do will wipe out all sentient life in the galaxy.” The doctor said. “What about that?” Fred gestured toward the Monitor. “His purpose is to activate the ring if the Flood get free. We came to stop you, and get the key to the Ark.” Dr. Halsey said. “The Ark? The key?” Kelly and Fred said simultaneously. “Just do as I say. I’ll do the smarts part, you do the fighting.” The doctor said. “Let’s just teleport to the Polarific system… got it!” The orange rings surrounded them, as they have so often. Then Fred wondered deeply how Dr. Halsey teleported, without a SPARTAN suit and all. Then they appeared on a rugged empty planet, with nothing but archaeologists, digging for clues, and the odd cheep-budget spaceships that littered the empty, orange field. “This was uninhabited by humans until passing ships realized an unlikely amount of heat from their infra-red sensors two years ago. They had then ordered all of the humans skilled archaeologists to find out what it was. It was deep enough to be the core either, so this was important enough to look at.” The doctor said. “Before activating the Ark, you need a key.” Dr. Halsey started. “Just like when activating the Halos, you need an index,” Kelly stated. “Yes.” The doctor continued. “The Covenant do not have this key, and we know that. If Master Chief, Linda, Will, and the other UNSC forces can stand the assault, we can secure the item before the can.” Dr. Halsey looked at her helmet’s HUD. She needed a helmet to breathe on this planet. She read the HUD, and noticed that she had just broadcasted that conversation to the Covenant leaders. But they were too far away to receive it until at least seven days… “Oops.” Dr. Halsey whispered. “This is Spartan 117 to Lord Hood. We’ve located and secured the ship with two Scarabs. We are awaiting explosives from a delivery Pelican”, or Longsword. He didn’t know. So they waited, and waited, and waited. They waited in the ship hopelessly. They could not drive the Scarabs because of the purple barrier that blocked the room to the controls. Half of an hour later, their pelican arrived. “Time to get busy boys!” Will exclaimed.

awsome chapter, i like the idea of new aliens, what are you going to call them?

you DO all realize that this is my rough version. I have an editor, and I'll probably add in a lot of detail. Glad to see some new posters (hehe, posters,) I encourage you to post to keep it on the front page, support me. Please. If enjoy the story, I suggest you check out my group. (Check my sig!) Just picture the launch bay as the one from The Truth and Reconciliation of Halo: Combat Evolved, and the place with Will and Master Chief like the Metropolis area. I'll add a lot more detail when completing my good copy.

very nice man, explain a lil more on the orange aliens. What do they look like.
